Trinh Hoanh
Trinh Hoanh was a major Khmer people, Cambodian intellectual and right-wing politician of the mid-20th century who served as Ministry of Information (Cambodia), Minister of Information and was president of the Khmer Writers Association, until he was assassinated by the Khmer Rouge in April 1975. Biography A promising young man from Kampong Thom Trinh Hoanh was born on 9 September 1924 in Trapeang Russei of Kampong Svay district in the Kampong Thom province, province of Kampong Thom. His father Trinh Bac and his mother Neang Suy Huoi were both of Chinese Cambodians, Sino-Khmer background. He was married on 15 November 1945 to Neang Mar Mongkre and together they had 11 children. Trinh Hoang went to the Ecole Normale to become a teacher. In September 1943, he taught his first day of school and in 1947, he was appointed as the local inspector of public schools in Cheung Prey district. The National Assembly ( km, រដ្ឋសភា, ) is one of the two houses (chambers) of the Parliament of Cambodia. It is referred to as the lower house, with the Senate being referred to as the upper house. The National Assembly is an elected body consisting of 125 members known as Members of Parliament (MPs). Members are elected for five-year terms by party-list proportional representation, using provinces as constituencies of 1 to 18 members, and the D'Hondt method of seat distribution. Ly Theam Teng
Ly Theam Teng (; ) was a Sino-Khmer ''literatus'' who authored many books including novels which have become classics of Cambodian literature, before he died of exhaustion under the Khmer Rouge in 1978. Biography Ly Theam Teng was born of Khmer-Chinese parents on May 15, 1930 in Kampong Siem District, of Kampong Cham Province. His father was named Ly Mong (李猛) and his mother was named Sok Kim (宋金). He married Ly Thirak, whose maiden name was Eam Kim Houy (穗金惠) and together they had 5 sons and daughters. The Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in Cambodia. RULE was established in 1949 as the National Institute of Law, Politics and Economics. In 2003, the institution was officially deemed a university. Son Sann ( km, សឺន សាន, ; 5 October 191119 December 2000) was a Cambodian politician and anti-communist resistance leader who served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Cambodia (1967–68) and later as President of the National Assembly (1993). Long Boret
Long Boret ( km, ឡុង បូរ៉េត, ; 3 January 1933 – 17 April 1975) was a Cambodian politician who served as the last prime minister of the Khmer Republic from 26 December 1973, to 17 April 1975. Highly regarded for his honesty, he tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a peace settlement with the Khmer Rouge during the Cambodian Civil War. He was later arrested by the Khmer Rouge and executed. He is one of two prime ministers to die in office, the other being Chan Sy.
