''Trickfinger II'' is the second studio album by Trickfinger, the alias of musician John Frusciante, released on 8 September 2017 on the AcidTest label. The six songs were recorded in 2007 at the same time as his full-length '' Trickfinger'' album. John Frusciante
John Anthony Frusciante (; born March 5, 1970) is an American musician, best known as the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers across three stints since 1988. He has released 11 solo albums and 7 EPs, ranging in style from acoustic guitar to electronic music. Frusciante joined the Chili Peppers at the age of 18 after the death of guitarist Hillel Slovak, and first appeared on their album '' Mother's Milk'' (1989). His second album with the band, ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'' (1991), was their breakthrough success. Overwhelmed by the band's newfound popularity, he quit in 1992. Acid House
Acid house (also simply known as just "acid") is a subgenre of house music developed around the mid-1980s by DJs from Chicago. The style is defined primarily by the squelching sounds and basslines of the Roland TB-303 electronic bass synthesizer-sequencer, an innovation attributed to Chicago producers DJ Pierre of Phuture and Sleezy D. Acid house soon became popular in the United Kingdom and continental Europe, where it was played by DJs in the acid house and later rave scenes. By the late 1980s, acid house had moved into the British mainstream, where it had some influence on pop and dance styles. Acid house brought house music to a worldwide audience. ''Trickfinger'' is the first studio album by Trickfinger, the alias of American musician John Frusciante. The album was released on April 7, 2015, on the AcidTest label. This was Frusciante's second release under the Trickfinger alias. His first was the 2012 two track '' Sect In Sgt'' EP. On January 28, 2015, Frusciante released the song "After Below" as a preview to the album. Background Frusciante said of the album, "I started being serious about following my dream to make electronic music, and to be my own engineer, five years ago. For the 10 years prior to that, I had been playing guitar along with a wide range of different types of programmed synthesizer and sample-based music, emulating what I heard as best as I could. Foregrow (EP)
''Foregrow'' is the seventh EP release by American musician John Frusciante (including the free '' 4-Track Guitar Music'' release on Bandcamp in November 2015). It was released for Record Store Day on April 16, 2016 by Acid Test (Absurd Recordings). The EP is a compilation put together by Acid Test records gathering four of John's recordings during his initial songwriting period with his more experimental, electronic music which directly followed his work for the Trickfinger record. These tracks were also conceived around the same time of his recordings with Speed Dealer Moms, and even feature a modular synthesizer developed for John by his bandmate Chris McDonald. His free download album '' Renoise Tracks 2009–2011'' available on his SoundCloud/Bandcamp pages was recorded during this time period as well.
