Tribute Power Station
The Tribute Power Station is a conventional hydroelectric power station located in Western Tasmania, Australia. Technical details Part of the Pieman Anthony Power Development scheme that comprises four hydroelectric power stations, the Tribute Power Station is the first station in the scheme, being the highest upstream, yet the last major hydro-electric power development in Tasmania. The power station is located underground, below the -high rock-filled concrete faced Anthony Dam and the adjacent -high Anthony Levee, both across the Anthony River which forms Lake Plimsoll. Water from the lake is fed to the power station via a headrace tunnel. The power station was commissioned in 1994 by the Hydro Electric Corporation (TAS) and the station has one Fuji Francis turbine, with a generating capacity of of electricity. Pieman River Power Development
Pieman River Power Development was a major 1970s and 1980s hydroelectric development of the Pieman River and its tributaries on the west coast of Tasmania. Development The ''Pieman River Power Development'' was approved by the Tasmanian government in 1971, construction began in 1974 and it was completed in 1987. page 24 The damming of the river was the subject of a struggle between conservation groups and Hydro Tasmania, similar to Lake Pedder . Anthony Power Development
The Anthony Power Development Scheme, part of the Pieman River power development scheme, was a proposed scheme for damming parts of the upper catchment of the Pieman River in Western Tasmania, Australia. Proposed by the Hydro-Electric Commission of Tasmania, approved by the Tasmanian Government in 1983, and environmental management established in 1984, the scheme proposed the development of five dams across various rivers that drain the West Coast Range towards the Southern Ocean.
