Sarah Haskins (triathlete)
Sarah Haskins (born March 13, 1981) is an American triathlete from St. Louis, Missouri. She competed in triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and is the 2011 Pan American Games Gold medalist. Education After graduating from Parkway South High School, Haskins attended the University of Tulsa from 1999 to 2003. She obtained an athletic scholarship for cross country and track and had several All-Conference finishes during her career there. Haskins graduated in May 2003 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in mathematics. Triathlon career Haskins began competing in triathlons during the summer of 2003 after graduating college and turned pro in 2004. Haskins has a strong swimming background, she was swimming competitively at age five and swimming year-round by the age of nine years. Brent McMahon
Brent McMahon (born September 17, 1980 in Kelowna, British Columbia) is a triathlete from Canada. McMahon competed in the second Olympic triathlon at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was hampered by injuries, and placed thirty-ninth with a total time of 1:59:44.57. At the 2007 Pan American Games, McMahon won the silver medal, after being narrowly beaten by American Andy Potts. On August 14, 2011, Brent won his first Triathlon World Cup event in Tiszaújváros, Hungary. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished in 27th place. McMahon went to Handsworth Secondary School in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Manuel Huerta
Manuel "Manny" Huerta (born March 22, 1984), is a Cuban-born triathlete. After emigrating from Cuba to the United States as a young man, Huerta began training as a professional triathlete. For the United States he won the silver medal in men's triathlon at the 2011 Pan American Games and in 2012 qualified as a member of the United States Olympic Team. In 2013, he left the US Olympic Team to compete for the Puerto Rico Olympic Team. Early life Huerta was born on March 22, 1984 in Havana, Cuba. He first began training as an athlete in Cuba, waking before 5:00 AM each morning to swim at the Marcelo Salado pool in Havana. At age six, after practicing alongside the Cuban national swimming team, Huerta first began to think of competing in the Olympics himself, and two years later watched on television as Cuban athletes participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
