Trial (band)
Trial was an American straight edge hardcore punk band based in Seattle, Washington, active from 1995 until 2000. They reunited for three reunion shows in Seattle, London, and Budapest in the fall of 2005, and were part of the Burning Fight Book Release show in Chicago in May 2009. They headlined a night at Fluff Fest in the Czech Republic on Saturday, July 25, 2009, and then at Antifest in Stockholm Sweden a week later. Shortly afterwards, bassist Brian Redman was killed in a moped accident. Straight Edge
Straight edge (sometimes abbreviated sXe or signified by XXX or X) is a subculture of hardcore punk whose adherents refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs, in reaction to the excesses of punk subculture. For some, this extends to refraining from engaging in promiscuous sex, to following a vegetarian or vegan diet, and to not using caffeine or prescription drugs. The term ''straight edge'' was adopted from the 1981 song " Straight Edge" by the hardcore punk band Minor Threat. The straight edge subculture emerged amid the early-1980s hardcore punk scene. Since then, a wide variety of beliefs and ideas have been associated with the movement, including vegetarianism and animal rights. While the commonly expressed aspects of the straight edge subculture have been abstinence from alcohol, nicotine, and illegal drugs, there have been considerable variations. Fluff Fest
Fluff Fest is an independent hardcore punk festival held each July at the Czech town of Rokycany. A significant event for the DIY music scene of the Czech Republic and the punk subculture of Europe, it is associated with movements such as veganism, anarchism, feminism, anti-fascism, and straight edge. It features an international lineup of bands from diverse punk rock genres including hardcore, crust punk, emo, and grindcore, as well as talks and zines. Catering is provided by local animal rights organization Svoboda zvířat. Fluff originated from Y2K HC Fest, an event organized in August 2000 in Plzeň by Michal Kočan and Tomáš Kadlec. They renamed it for the 2001 edition and moved it to the Rokycany airfield in 2006. Jason Shrout
Jason Shrout (born October 31, 1980) is an American drummer. He plays in the Kansas City hardcore punk band Dark Ages. Career Shrout played in obscure bands in the mid-to-late '90s, and had several projects in the early 2000s. He played in Kansas City metal core band ''Saved by Grace'' (1999–2003), Orange County, California's Eighteen Visions (2003–2004), and Kansas City hardcore punk bands ''Nervous Wreck'' (2005–2007), and ''Black Mark'' (2008). He toured with ''Love Is Red'' in 2002. In early 2010, Shrout joined Kansas City hardcore punk band Dark Ages. In 2011, Dark Ages released their first LP, titled "Can America Survive?", on Sorry State Records. According to Sorry State in 2014, the band has a second LP that will be coming out TBA. Alexei Rodriguez is a Puerto Rican drummer currently with Boston-based hard rock/heavy metal band Cortez.
