Trevor ( cy, Trefor) is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is situated in the scenic Vale of Llangollen, on the A539 between Llangollen and Wrexham, in the community of Llangollen Rural, and in the historic county of Denbighshire. Its name is an anglicised version of the Welsh place-name ''Trefor'', meaning "large village". This was one of the old townships of the parish of Llangollen, giving its name to both a powerful landowning family whose ancestral home was in the township, and to the later industrial settlement represented by the modern village. Trevor Basin
Trevor Basin is a canal basin on the Llangollen Canal, situated near Trevor, Wrexham County Borough, Wales, in between Llangollen and Ruabon. The basin was originally built at the northern end of the central section of the Ellesmere Canal, just 150yds north of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. With the abandonment of the planned extension to Chester, Trevor Basin became the terminus of the Ellesmere Canal itself. The canal was later extended westwards, to Llangollen and the Horseshoe Falls, to act as a feeder. The basin has become a popular tourist destination owing to the adjacent aqueduct, for which is provides several car parks and an additional photo opportunity. A pub, a tea rooms, visitor centre, cafe boat and public toilets now surround the basin. Trevor Railway Station
Trevor railway station was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth Line in north-east Wales. The line was double track between Ruabon and Llangollen and there was a signal box at Trevor. Trefor, Gwynedd
Trefor is a village on the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, in Gwynedd, Wales. It had a population of 1,067 at the 2021 Census. Trefor is in the Community of Llanaelhaearn, and Llithfaen is nearby. There is a beach in Trefor and also a shop in the village centre. It was in the historic county of Caernarfonshire. Location and amenities Trefor is 9 miles (14 km) north of Pwllheli and south of Caernarfon. It is surrounded by the sea and mountains, overlooking Caernarfon Bay. Just off the main A499 road, Trefor has a small harbour and a beach with some sand. At the top of the beach is an emergency telephone to summon help in the event of a maritime emergency. The land behind the beach is made of boulder clay deposited during the last glaciation, and is being slowly eroded by the sea. Baron Trevor is a title that has been created three times. It was created first in 1662 in the Peerage of Ireland along with the viscountcy of Dungannon. For information on this creation, which became extinct in 1706, see Viscount Dungannon. The title was next created in the Peerage of Great Britain in 1712 for the lawyer Sir Thomas Trevor; the fourth Baron was created Viscount Hampden in 1776. Both titles became extinct in 1824 (see Viscount Hampden for more information). The final creation of the title came in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1880. James Hilton (9 September 1900 – 20 December 1954) was an English novelist and screenwriter. He is best remembered for his novels ''Lost Horizon'', ''Goodbye, Mr. Chips'' and ''Random Harvest'', as well as co-writing screenplays for the films '' Camille'' (1936) and ''Mrs. Miniver'' (1942), the latter earning him an Academy Award.
