Trenton Steel
The Trenton Steel was a professional indoor football team that began play in the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) in the 2011 season. The team suspended operations December 27, 2011. The Steel were based in Trenton, New Jersey, with home games played at the Sun National Bank Center. History The team was announced as a 2011 expansion franchise in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) during a neutral site game at Sun National Bank Center between the AIFA teams New Jersey Revolution and Harrisburg Stampede on June 12, 2010. The Steel became Trenton's first indoor football team since the Indoor Professional Football League's Trenton Lightning. That team folded in 2001 after only six games played, all losses, because of their owner's indictment on various charges. The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade.
