Trente Oiseaux
Trente Oiseaux is a record label founded by experimental musician Bernhard Günter in 1995. Early releases featured musicians such as Francisco López, Roel Meelkop, John Duncan, Jim O'Rourke, Daniel Menche and Günter himself. A bout of ill health forced Günter to slow down operations in the late 1990s, however the label made a comeback in 1999 and has continued to be a prolific label in the field of minimalist music. A record label, or record company, is a brand or trademark of music recordings and music videos, or the company that owns it. Experimental Music
Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions. Francisco López is an avant-garde experimental musician and sound artist. John Duncan (artist)
John Duncan is an American multi-platform artist whose body of work includes performance art, installations, contemporary music, video art and experimental film, often involving the extensive use of recorded sound. His music is composed mainly of recordings from shortwave radio, field recordings and voice. His events and installations are a form of existential research, often confrontational in nature. Duncan currently lives in (and operates out of) Bologna, Italy. Early years Duncan was born in Wichita, Kansas, to parents of English and Scottish ancestry. He was raised with a strict Calvinist upbringing where self-reliance, hard work, and the suppression of emotional suffering were considered virtues. Questioning authority was severely punished. Jim O'Rourke (born January 18, 1969, Chicago, Illinois) is a Tokyo-based American musician, composer and record producer. He has released albums across varied genres, including singer-songwriter music, post-rock, ambient, noise music, and tape experiments. He was associated with the Chicago experimental and improv scene when he relocated to New York City in 2000. He now resides in Japan. O’Rourke is best known for his numerous solo and collaborative music projects, many of which are entirely instrumental, and for his tenure as a member of Sonic Youth from 1999 to 2005.
