Trelleborg () is a town in Skåne County, Sweden, with 43,359 inhabitants as of December 31, 2015. It is the southernmost town in Sweden located some west from the southernmost point of Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula. It is one of the most important ferry towns in Scandinavia as well as around the Baltic Sea, and the main town of the Söderslätt agricultural areas. Etymology The first written record of the name is from 1257, ''Threlæburgh''. The name is found in many places in Scandinavia. ''Borg'' means ''castle'' or ''stronghold'' and ''träl'' can mean thrall, but can also refer to the leaning poles on the outside of the medieval Viking stronghold. Remains of the original stronghold were excavated in 1988. The name may also have originated from the stronghold that still remains in the center of the city. Trelleborgs Fotbollsförening, more commonly known as Trelleborgs FF or simply Trelleborg, is a Swedish football club located in Trelleborg. Formed 6 December 1926, the club plays in Superettan, the second tier in the Swedish Football system. Trelleborgs FF has participated 17 times in Allsvenskan and once in the UEFA Cup where the team eliminated Blackburn Rovers in the 1994–1995 season. Trelleborg have had a reputation of being a less fashionable provincial side, making the most of limited resources and a small fan base. Ida Marko-Varga (born ''Mattsson''; 10 March 1985) is a Swedish swimmer. She represents SK Triton. Career Marko-Varga was an early prospect, winning two individual freestyle titles at the 1998 Swedish Swimming Championships at the age of 13. The winning marks were 2:03.95 on 200-metre freestyle and 4:21.41 on the 400 m freestyle. She won all the five titles she contested for in the Swedish Youth Championships the same summer, although she was one year younger than the others in her age group. At the Swedish Youth Short Course Championships she won six individual titles and two relay medals, still being one year younger. She won a bronze medal in the 200-metre freestyle event at the 2000 European Junior Swimming Championships, behind Irina Oufimtseva and Éva Risztov.
