Trekkies (film)
''Trekkies'' is a 1997 documentary film directed by Roger Nygard about the devoted fans of Gene Roddenberry's ''Star Trek''. It is the first film released by Paramount Vantage, then known as Paramount Classics, and is presented by Denise Crosby, best known for her portrayal of Security Chief Tasha Yar on the first season of '' Star Trek: The Next Generation''. Contents The film contains interviews with ''Star Trek'' devotees, more commonly known as Trekkies. The fans range from people who dress as Klingons to members of Brent Spiner fan clubs and includes a club that is producing a ''Star Trek'' movie of their own. A uniform is a variety of clothing worn by members of an organization while participating in that organization's activity. The Trouble With Tribbles
"The Trouble with Tribbles" is the fifteenth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek''. Written by David Gerrold and directed by Joseph Pevney, it was first broadcast on December 29, 1967. In this comic episode, the starship ''Enterprise'' visits a space station that soon becomes overwhelmed by rapidly-reproducing small furry creatures called "tribbles." It is claimed the short story "Pigs Is Pigs" by Ellis Parker Butler inspired the episode, but strong similarities to sections of the novel ''The Rolling Stones'' led the producers to seek a waiver from author Robert A. Heinlein. The original episode has had several produced follow-ups. The Squire Of Gothos
"The Squire of Gothos" is the 17th episode of the first season of the American science-fiction television series, ''Star Trek''. Written by Paul Schneider, and directed by Don McDougall, it first aired on January 12, 1967. In the episode, the childish but powerful ruler of the planet Gothos captures the crew of the ''Enterprise'' for his own amusement. Plot The USS ''Enterprise'', under the command of Captain Kirk, is on an 8-day supply mission to Colony Beta VI. Passing through a "star desert", the ship encounters a rogue planet previously hidden from their sensors. As Lt. Sulu attempts to enter a course around the planet, he suddenly vanishes from the bridge, and Kirk vanishes a moment later. First Officer Spock assumes that the two must have been taken to the planet, though sensor readings indicate the planet's atmosphere is lethal to most forms of life. William Campbell (actor, Born 1923)
William Campbell (October 30, 1923 – April 28, 2011) was an American actor who appeared in supporting roles in major film productions, and also starred in several low-budget B-movies and horror films. Career Campbell's film career began in 1950, with a small part in the John Garfield film '' The Breaking Point.'' After several years of similar supporting performances in a number of films, including as a co-pilot in William Wellman's '' The High and the Mighty'' (1954), he won his first starring role in '' Cell 2455 Death Row'' (1955), a low-budget prison film for Columbia Pictures. He played a death row inmate, based loosely on the true story of Caryl Chessman, who staunchly proclaimed his innocence and obtained numerous reprieves over many years until finally being executed.
