Travis Raven
Travis Roland Raven (August 31, 1922 – May 11, 2004) was an American football coach. He built John H. Reagan High School of Austin into a Texas high school football powerhouse, winning 4A state championships in 1967, 1968 and 1970. His record at Reagan was 62–10–1 which included a 35-game winning streak from 1967 to 1969. He was chosen as the Texas High School Coach of the Year in 1969. Previously, he had coached at Lockhart High School and Austin High School (Austin, Texas), where he guided the Maroons to the state baseball championship in 1958. Raven was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where he attended Austin High School. In 1940, he was a member of the State Junior College Championship Team at Schreiner Institute. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. An athletic director (commonly "athletics director" or "AD") is an administrator at many American clubs or institutions, such as colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, who oversees the work of coaches and related staff involved in athletic programs. Felony
A felony is traditionally considered a crime of high seriousness, whereas a misdemeanor is regarded as less serious. The term "felony" originated from English common law (from the French medieval word "félonie") to describe an offense that resulted in the confiscation of a convicted person's land and goods, to which additional punishments including capital punishment could be added; other crimes were called misdemeanors. Austin Independent School District (AISD) is a school district based in the city of Austin, Texas, United States. A sports coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction and training of a sports team or athlete. History The original sense of the word ''coach'' is that of a horse-drawn carriage, deriving ultimately from the Hungarian city of Kocs where such vehicles were first made. Students at the University of Oxford in the early nineteenth century used the slang word to refer to a private tutor who would drive a less able student through his examinations just like horse driving.
