Travis Carter Enterprises
Travis Carter Enterprises (later known as Haas-Carter Motorsports, K Mart Racing, BelCar Motorsports and Richardson-Haas Motorsports) was a NASCAR and USAR Pro Cup team. It was mostly owned by former crew chief Travis Carter and Carl Haas. The team previously fielded entries in the Winston Cup Series before closing. It returned in 2007 to field a full-time entry for rookie Kyle Krisiloff. Ellerbe, North Carolina
Ellerbe is a town in Richmond County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,054 at the 2010 census. History In the 1700s Scottish settlers held a fair every May and November in the present location of Ellerbe, leading locals to dub the place "the Fair Grounds". W. T. Ellerbe later developed a spa nearby called Ellerbe Springs, and thereafter the community took its name. A railroad was built to Ellerbe in 1910 and a depot was constructed. The town was incorporated the following year. At the time it only had a population of 50. By 1923 it had grown to a population of over 500, with several mills, two banks, three churches, a telephone exchange, and a hotel. Benny Parsons
Benjamin Stewart Parsons (July 12, 1941 – January 16, 2007) was an American NASCAR driver, and later an announcer/analyst/pit reporter on SETN, TBS, ABC, ESPN, NBC, and TNT. He became famous as the 1973 NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion, and was a 2017 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee. He was the older brother of former NASCAR driver, car owner, and broadcaster Phil Parsons of Phil Parsons Racing. Matt Carter (born May 13, 1981) is an American stock car racing driver and the son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car owner Travis Carter. Early career Before moving on to ARCA and NASCAR, Carter ran in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, where he was named Rookie of the Year in 2004. He scored one win in the series, coming at Iowa Speedway in September 2007. ARCA Carter made his debut in the series in 2008. He replaced Frank Kimmel in the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford for Larry Clement and made a run for the championship. He won his first career race at Toledo Speedway after starting 13th. Carted ended the year 3rd in points, earning one win and fourteen top 10s. He also earned Rookie of the Year honors. In 2009, Carter only ran his two races as the No. 46 team cut back its schedule. The 1975 Daytona 500, the 17th running of the event on February 16, 1975, was a race in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Race report From the start, it appeared that David Pearson was on his way to his first Daytona 500 victory as he built a sizable lead on second place Benny Parsons late in the race. However, Richard Petty was eight laps behind the leaders on his way to finishing seventh, and Parsons hooked up in a draft and began reeling in Pearson who was slowed by lapped traffic. The key moment of the race occurred two laps from the end when contact with Cale Yarborough in traffic sent Pearson spinning on the backstretch. Parsons avoided the accident and went on to take the win. One of the things that set up that incident late in the race that cost David Pearson the race was the fact that Cale Yarborough was running on 7 cylinders.
