Travis Beckum
Travis Tyrell Beckum (born January 24, 1987) is a former American football tight end. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. Early years Travis Beckum played football for Oak Creek High School. He participated in the 2005 U.S. Army All-American Bowl where he was the leading tackler. College career In 2005, Beckum saw limited action in 10 games as reserve on defense and on special teams. The following year Beckum switched to the tight end position and saw more action. Beckum was a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award and was named second-team All-American by Walter Camp and SI.com. He caught 61 passes for 903 yards and 5 scores as a sophomore, and improved to 75, 982 and 6 as a junior. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. The 2011 New York Giants season was the 87th season for the team in the National Football League (NFL). They played all of their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 2009 New York Giants Season
The 2009 New York Giants season was the 85th season for the team in the National Football League (NFL). It was the team's final season in Giants Stadium; in 2010, the Giants moved into New Meadowlands Stadium.
