Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1
''The Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1'' is the debut studio album by the English-American supergroup Traveling Wilburys, comprising George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. It was released in October 1988 to commercial success and critical acclaim. Although Harrison had long planned to start such a band, the project came about through happenstance. Harrison was in Los Angeles and in need of a B-side for a single from his '' Cloud Nine'' album, which resulted in the participants collaborating informally on the song " Handle with Care" at Dylan's home. Adopting alter egos as the five Wilbury brothers, they then recorded a full album, produced by Lynne and Harrison. It was the only Wilburys album to feature Orbison, who died suddenly of a heart attack less than two months after its release. The group continued as a four-piece after his death. Traveling Wilburys
The Traveling Wilburys were a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. Originating from an idea discussed by Harrison and Lynne during the sessions for Harrison's 1987 album '' Cloud Nine'', the band formed in April 1988 after the five members united to record a bonus track for Harrison's next European single. When this collaboration, " Handle with Care", was deemed too good for such a limited release, the group agreed to record a full album, titled '' Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1''. Following Orbison's death in December 1988, the Wilburys released a second album, which they titled '' Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3'', in 1990. Armchair Theatre (album)
''Armchair Theatre'' is the first solo album by Jeff Lynne, released in 1990. History The album reunited Lynne with Electric Light Orchestra's keyboard player Richard Tandy and featured fellow Traveling Wilburys member George Harrison (both Harrison and the Wilburys were signed to Warner Bros. Records, parent of Reprise Records which released this album). Lynne wrote and recorded "Now You're Gone" as a tribute to his late mother. The album also features cover versions of two classics: "September Song" and " Stormy Weather". The songs " Every Little Thing" and "Lift Me Up" were released as singles both featuring non-album b-sides, "I'm Gone" from the former and "Borderline" and "Sirens" from the latter. Despite positive reviews the album became only a minor hit. Friar Park is a Victorian neo-Gothic mansion in Henley-on-Thames, England, built in 1889. Overdubbing (also known as layering) is a technique used in audio recording in which audio tracks that have been pre-recorded are then played back and monitored, while simultaneously recording new, doubled, or augmented tracks onto one or more available tracks of a digital audio workstation (DAW) or tape recorder. The overdub process can be repeated multiple times. This technique is often used with singers, as well as with instruments, or ensembles/orchestras.
