Transform (Howard Jones Album)
''Transform'' is a 2019 studio album by the English musician Howard Jones. It is the first proper studio album from Jones in a decade, and was released on 10 May 2019 on CD and vinyl formats. Background ''Transform'' was conceived from multiple situations. One being when former Take That frontman Gary Barlow asked Jones to produce songs for the soundtrack to the 2016 movie ''Eddie the Eagle.'' Two songs were written for the soundtrack, with one—"Eagle Will Fly Again"—being featured on ''Transform''. Jones recalls that after writing the two tracks, he thought about returning to his electronic roots. Another build up was when Jones collaborated with fellow friend and fan BT for three tracks. "The One to Love You", the first song on the album, was the first of their endeavours. John Howard Jones (born 23 February 1955) is a British musician, singer and songwriter. He had ten top 40 hit singles in the UK between 1983 and 1986; six of those 10 singles reached the top ten, including " What Is Love?", " New Song", and " Things Can Only Get Better". His 1984 album ''Human's Lib'' reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Around the world, Jones had 15 top 40 hit singles between 1983 and 1992. The 1986 hit single "No One Is to Blame" reached No. 4 on the US charts. Four others placed in the US top 20. Jones is associated with the 1980s Second British Invasion of the US. The Human League
The Human League are an English synth-pop band formed in Sheffield in 1977. Initially an experimental electronic outfit, the group signed to Virgin Records in 1979 and later attained widespread commercial success with their third album ''Dare'' in 1981 after restructuring their lineup. The album contained four hit singles, including the UK/US number one hit " Don't You Want Me". The band received the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act in 1982. Pop Will Eat Itself are an English alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Stourbridge in the West Midlands of England with members from Birmingham, Coventry and the Black Country. Initially known as a grebo act, they changed style to incorporate sample-driven indie and industrial rock. All Hail the Silence is an electronic music duo comprising American electronic musician BT and English singer-songwriter Christian Burns. The band was informally announced on March 8, 2012, but live shows and project announcements did not commence until the second half of 2014.
