TransBrasil was a Brazilian airline which ceased operations on 3 December 2001. During most of its history, Transbrasil was owned by local entrepreneur Omar Fontana. Its aircraft usually featured a colorful livery, remarkably with a rainbow on the tail fin. Transbrasil base was Brasilia International Airport in Brasilia. From the 1970s and until its demise in 2002, Transbrasil was usually the third largest Brazilian airline after Varig and VASP, serving both domestic and international routes. Interbrasil STAR S/A was a Brazilian airline founded in 1994 as a feeder airline to Transbrasil. It ceased activities along with its parent company in 2001. History Interbrasil Sistema de Transporte Aéreo Regional was founded on January 14, 1994 as a subsidiary of Transbrasil with the purpose to serve as a feeder carrier. Operations started on July 3, 1995. In 1999 Interbrasil STAR participated with Total Linhas Aéreas in the creation of a shuttle service between Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont and Belo Horizonte-Pampulha using mostly the ATR-42 of Total. On December 4, 2001, following the collapse of its parent company, Interbrasil STAR ceased operations. It is named after Hercílio Pedro da Luz (1860–1924), three times governor of the state of Santa Catarina and senator. It is operated by Zurich Airport Brasil. Serviços Aéreos Cruzeiro do Sul was the second oldest airline of Brazil, tracing its origins to 1927, when it was founded as Syndicato Condor, a subsidiary of Deutsche Luft Hansa. Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros Airport is an airport serving Bauru, Brazil. History The airport was built in 1939. Leite Lopes Airport
Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport is the airport serving Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. It is operated by Rede Voa. History Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport was opened on April 2, 1939, and soon after, in 1940, the runway was extended for the first time. In 1996 the whole airport complex received its major renovation in which the runway and adjoining taxiway were extended from 1,800m to 2,100m and a new larger apron was built. In 2006 the width of the runway was enlarged to 45m and finally in July 2010 the renovation and enlargement of the terminal building was completed.
