Trans-Val-de-Marne
The Trans-Val-de-Marne, often abbreviated as Tvm, is a bus rapid transit (BRT) line operated by the RATP Group as part of the RATP bus network in the Paris metropolitan area. The line entered service on 1 October 1993, running almost entirely in a Bus lane, dedicated lane. The line facilitates travel from suburb to suburb within the Val-de-Marne department in the Île-de-France region. It replaces the former RATP line 392, which since 1969 has linked Saint-Maur–Créteil station and Rungis. The Tvm connects to , serving thirty-two stations over nearly . It has a special status since although it is a bus line, it is already administratively included by the RATP in the "T mode," alongside Tramways in Île-de-France, the tram lines. It is the busiest bus line in Europe, with 23 million passengers in 2019. The Île-de-France tramways (french: Tramways d'Île-de-France) consists of a network of modern tram lines in the Île-de-France region of France. Eleven lines are currently operational (counting Lines 3a and 3b as separate lines), with extensions and additional lines in the planning and construction stage. Although the system mainly runs in the suburban regions of Paris, lines T3a and T3b run entirely within Paris city limits, and line T2 also does so for part of its route. Créteil () is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, Île-de-France. It is located from the centre of Paris. Créteil is the ''préfecture'' (capital) of the Val-de-Marne department as well as the seat of the Arrondissement of Créteil. A rubber-tyred tram (also known as tramway on tyres, french: tramway sur pneumatiques) is a development of the guided bus in which a vehicle is guided by a fixed rail in the road surface and draws current from overhead electric wires (either via pantograph or trolley poles). Two incompatible systems using physical guide rails exist, the Guided Light Transit (GLT) designed by Bombardier Transportation, and the Translohr from Lohr Industrie (currently made by Alstom and FSI). There are no guide bars at the sides but there is a central guidance rail that differs in design between the systems. In the case of Translohr, this rail is grasped by a pair of metal guide wheels set at 45° to the road and at 90° to each other. The RATP bus network covers the entire territory of the city of Paris and the vast majority of its near suburbs.
