Tranent Juniors F.C.
Tranent Juniors Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the town of Tranent, East Lothian. The team was promoted from the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division to the Lowland League in 2022, having moved from the junior leagues in 2018. Despite leaving the junior leagues, the club has retained the term "Juniors" as part of their identity. Their home ground is Foresters Park and club colours are maroon and white. The club's greatest honour was winning the Scottish Junior Cup in 1934–35, defeating Petershill 6–1 at Ibrox Park in front of a crowd of 22,000. This remains the joint record margin of victory in a Junior Cup final. The club were also runners-up to Yoker Athletic in the 1932–33 final after a replay. Tranent is a town in East Lothian (formerly Haddingtonshire), in the south-east of Scotland. The town lies 6 miles from the boundary of Edinburgh, and 9.1 miles from the city centre. It lies beside the A1 road, the A1 runs through the parish splitting the parish from its associated villages and hamlets namely Meadowmill and the port of the parish Cockenzie. The original main post road ran straight through the town until the new A1 was built. Built on a gentle slope, about above sea level it is one of the oldest towns in East Lothian. The population of the town is approximately 12,140, an increase of over 4,000 since 2001. Tranent was formerly a major mining town, but now serves as a commuter town for Edinburgh. Darren McCormack
Darren McCormack (born 29 September 1988) is a Scottish professional footballer who used to play as a defender for Tranent Juniors now a free agent. McCormack, a defender, started his career with Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, but was released at the end of the 2009–10 season. McCormack then signed for Ross County, but he suffered a broken leg and was again released. He signed for East Fife in January 2012 and Airdrieonians in July 2013, then Brechin City in June 2014. He was also banned from the sport in 2017 following attempted murder and previous convictions until he signed for Tranent Juniors on July 2021. The East Junior Football League, also known as the ''Edinburgh & District Junior League'', the ''Midlothian Junior League'' and the ''Lothians Junior League'', was a football league competition operated in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Falkirk under the Scottish Junior Football Association. James Keatings
James Keatings (born 20 January 1992) is a Scottish professional footballer who used to play as a forward for Tranent Juniors now a free agent. He has previously played for Celtic, Heart of Midlothian, St Johnstone, Hibernian and Dundee United plus a loan and two permanent spells at Hamilton Academical. In May 2019, he agreed to play for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the following season. He most recently played for Raith Rovers, Montrose, Forfar Athletic and Tranent Juniors. Kris Joseph Renton (born 12 July 1990) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a striker for Tranent Juniors. He was the youngest Norwich City player in the club's history. Norwich City Youth team at Norwich Having been spotted playing in the summer of 2006 in Scotland playing for Musselburgh Windsor by Academy scout Karl Brady, Renton began the 2006–07 season in the youth team.
