Trancemission
Trance (stylised as TRANCE) is considered to be one of the co-founders of German heavy metal starting as early as the late 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s. Trance is active again as of 2011 under the original name TRANCE with original co-founders Markus Berger and Tommy Klein, after a temporary name change to „Trancemission“, which was then later subsequently furthered by the other co-founding member Lothar Antoni. History / Founding 1974 saw the duo of singer Lothar Antoni and guitarist Markus Berger with drummer Stefan Gerdon and bassist Hansi Jantzer and keyboarder Clemens Schlindwein as a school band under the name „TRIBUT“ coming together to make their own music. In 1978 Markus Berger, Lothar Antoni, Hans-Peter Jantzer and Stefan Gerdon founded the band AGE, which they renamed TRANCE in the following year. Rough Trade Distribution
Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. Having successfully promoted and sold records by punk rock and early post-punk and indie pop bands such as the Normal and Desperate Bicycles, Travis began to manage acts and distribute bands such as Scritti Politti and began the label, which was informed by left-wing politics and structured as a co-operative. Soon after, Rough Trade also set up a distribution arm that serviced independent retail outlets across Britain, a network that became known as the Cartel. In 1983, Rough Trade signed the Smiths. Interest and investment of major labels in the UK indie scene in the late 1980s, as well as overtrading on behalf of Rough Trade's distribution wing, led to cash flow problems, and eventually to bankruptcy, forcing the label into receivership. Manilla Road
Manilla Road was an American heavy metal band from Wichita, Kansas, founded by Mark "The Shark" Shelton (vocals and guitar) and Scott "Scooter" Park (bass guitar). Beginning in 1977, the early years of Manilla Road were spent playing mostly progressive rock and space rock but eventually became noticeably heavier with time, the band's later heavy metal sound becoming more and more apparent with the release of ''Metal'' in 1982. Achieving moderate success in the mid-80s with several well-received releases such as '' Crystal Logic'' (1983), '' Open the Gates'' (1985) and ''The Deluge'' (1986), the band became known for both the nasal voice of vocalist Mark Shelton and his eclectic style of songwriting, with many of his compositions taking place in fantastical universes combining elements of ancient mythologies and of popular culture mythos such as Robert E.
