''Training Day'' is an American Crime drama, crime-Thriller (genre), thriller television series that aired on CBS from February 2, to May 20, 2017. The series serves as a follow up to the Training Day, 2001 film of the same name. It stars Bill Paxton and Justin Cornwell, and is known for being one of Paxton's final performances prior to his death in February 2017. Premise Fifteen years after the events of the Training Day, film, the series follows Officer Kyle Craig (Justin Cornwell) as he infiltrates the LAPD's Los Angeles Police Department#Detective Bureau, Special Investigation Section (SIS) by becoming a partner with the morally ambiguous Detective Frank Roarke (Bill Paxton), whose off-the-books record has attracted the attention of the LAPD.
