''Tragedy of a Marriage'' (German: ''Tragödie einer Ehe'') is a 1927 German silent drama film directed by Maurice Elvey and starring Isobel Elsom, Alfred Abel and Paul Richter.Bock & Bergfelder p.2 It is also known by the alternative title of ''Human Law''. It is still extant. The film's sets were designed by the art director Artur Günther and Ernst Stern. Maurice Elvey (11 November 1887 – 28 August 1967) was one of the most prolific film directors in British history. He directed nearly 200 films between 1913 and 1957. During the silent film era he directed as many as twenty films per year.
