Trafford Tanzi
''Trafford Tanzi'' is a play by Clare Luckham. It was originally performed as ''Tuebrook Tanzi, The Venus Flytrap'' by the Everyman Theatre Company in Liverpool in 1978 before moving to Manchester as ''Trafford Tanzi'' in 1980, later achieving commercial success in London. Plot The play is set in a wrestling ring where the story of the title character, Tanzi, is told. Tanzi's parents bring her up to be feminine, but she refuses to conform to traditional femininity and is labelled a tomboy. She marries a professional wrestler named Dean Rebel and supports him in his career. Eventually, she becomes a champion professional wrestler herself and finally challenges her husband Dean to a match, with the loser being required to do the housework. In keeping with the wrestling theme, the play is divided into ten rounds, each of which ends with a bell. Wrestling Ring
A wrestling ring is the stage on which a professional wrestling match usually occurs. It is similarly constructed to a boxing ring and is traditionally square-shaped. Configuration and construction The configuration and construction of the traditional wrestling ring closely resembles that of a boxing ring. Like boxing rings, wrestling rings are also known by the poetic name of the "squared circle", which derives from how combative exhibitions would often be held in a roughly drawn circle on the ground. Wrestling rings are generally composed of an elevated steel beam and wood plank stage topped by foam padding and a canvas cover. Around the ring are three ''ring ropes'', one fewer than modern boxing rings, which have had four ropes since the 1970s. Tickfaw was founded in 1852 and is a village in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 694 at the 2010 census. Tickfaw is part of the Hammond Micropolitan Statistical Area. It was originally inhabited by Italian-American immigrants and continues to have a distinct Italian-American heritage. History Tickfaw is an Indian name which means "Rest Among the Pines." Jerry O'Neil Lawler (born November 29, 1949), better known as Jerry "The King" Lawler, is an American color commentator and professional wrestler. Blondie is an American Rock music, rock band co-founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. Mermaid Theatre
The Mermaid Theatre was a theatre encompassing the site of Puddle Dock and Curriers' Alley at Blackfriars in the City of London, and the first built in the City since the time of Shakespeare. It was, importantly, also one of the first new theatres to abandon the traditional stage layout; instead a single tier of seats surrounded the stage on three sides.
