Trae Williams
Trae Williams (born January 30, 1985) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at South Florida. Williams has also been a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Buffalo Bills. Early years Williams attended and played high school football at Durant High School in Plant City, Florida. College career Williams attended the University of South Florida where he was a first and second-team all-Big East defensive back and a Thorpe Award candidate. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage.
