Tracy Callis
Tracy Callis is a prominent American boxing historian, writer and journalist. He is the director of the historical research boxing website ''Cyber Boxing Zone'' (CBZ) and International Boxing Research Organization (IBRO). He is also an elector to the International Boxing Hall Of Fame (IBHoF) and a member of the ''World Boxing Historians Association'' (WBHA). Education In 1963, Callis earned a master's degree in mathematics at Virginia Tech and worked at NASA's Langley Research Center as a mathematician for three years and later as a computer systems engineer for five years with IBM Corporation. He retired after serving thirty two years as a professor of information technology at Virginia Western Community College. Herbert Randolph Sugar (June 7, 1936 – March 25, 2012) was an American boxing writer and sports historian known for his trademark fedora and unlit cigar. Biography Early life and education Sugar was born in Washington, D.C. on June 7, 1936. In 1953, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, where he was a reporter and columnist for the school's newspaper. His entry in the high school yearbook for that year predicted he "will become a radio announcer or sports writer." Sugar graduated from the University of Maryland before earning a JD and MBA from the University of Michigan in 1960. Career After passing the bar, Sugar worked in advertising, including with the McCann Erickson agency. He was Publisher-Editor of Baseball Monthly magazine in 1962. William James Wilde (15 May 1892 – 10 March 1969) was a Welsh professional boxer who competed from 1911 to 1923. He held the IBU world flyweight title in 1916, the EBU European flyweight title twice; firstly in 1914 and again from 1916 to 1917, the BBBofC British flyweight title in 1916 and the National Sporting Club's British flyweight title from 1916 to 1918. Edward Patrick "Mickey" Walker (July 13, 1903 (some sources indicate 1901) – April 28, 1981) was an American professional boxer who held both the world welterweight and world middleweight championships at different points in his career. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was also an avid golfer and would later be recognized as a renowned artist. Archie Moore (born Archibald Lee Wright; December 13, 1913 – December 9, 1998) was an American professional boxer and the longest reigning World Light Heavyweight Champion of all time (December 1952 – May 1962). Barry Hugman
Barry John Hugman (born 1941) is an English sports author, statistician and historian. He was born in Hampstead Garden Suburb, Middlesex, in 1941 and educated at Clarks College, Finchley. Having spent ten years concentrating on a business career he decided to produce what was called at the time the biggest job in football statistics–collating and presenting the records of all men who had played in the Football League since 1946. He has since gone on to publish many other works, a large number of which are recognised by the authorities as definitive sources in their field.
