Tracker (file Manager)
Haiku Tracker is a graphical user interface for managing files of the Haiku operating system. It is somewhat similar to Finder on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. Haiku Tracker is based on OpenTracker which in turn is based on Tracker found in the BeOS. History The original Tracker was created by Be Inc., as part of BeOS, but was opensourced in late 2000. The project was managed by Be until its close-down in late 2001, when it moved to SourceForge under the guidance of Axel Dörfler, the chief non-Be contributor. It is under the OpenTracker License, which is a barely modified BSD license that allows the use of the Be trademark Tracker to be used. Deskbar The Deskbar is a taskbar that is by default placed in the upper right corner of the screen of the Haiku operating system. Haiku (operating System)
Haiku is a free and open-source operating system application level compatible with the discontinued BeOS. Its development began in 2001, and the operating system became self-hosting in 2008. The first alpha release was made in September 2009, and the last was November 2012; the first beta was released in September 2018, followed by beta 2 in June 2020, beta 3 in July 2021. The fourth beta was released on December 23, 2022, still keeping BeOS 5 compatibility in its x86 32-bit images, with much increased number of modern drivers, GTK3 apps and Wine ported, as well as Xlib (X11) and Wayland compatibility layers. BeOS Software
BeOS is an operating system for personal computers first developed by Be Inc. in 1990. It was first written to run on BeBox hardware. BeOS was positioned as a multimedia platform that could be used by a substantial population of desktop users and a competitor to Classic Mac OS and Microsoft Windows. It was ultimately unable to achieve a significant market share, and did not prove commercially viable for Be Inc. The company was acquired by Palm Inc. Taskbar
A taskbar is an element of a graphical user interface which has various purposes. It typically shows which programs are currently running. The specific design and layout of the taskbar varies between individual operating systems, but generally assumes the form of a strip located along one edge of the screen. On this strip are various icons which correspond to the windows open within a program. Haiku
is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Opentracker is a free (licensed as beerware) BitTorrent peer tracker software (a special kind of HTTP or UDP server software) that is designed to be fast and to have a low consumption of system resources.
