Herman Fisher
Herman Guy Fisher (November 2, 1898 – September 26, 1975), was born in Unionville Pennsylvania. He is best known as the co-founder of the famous toy brand Fisher-Price. Biography Herman G. Fisher was born in Unionville, Pennsylvania in 1898. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity in 1921 with a BA in Commerce and Finance. In 1930, he got together with Irving Price, Margaret Evans Price and Helen Schelle to establish a toy company under the name of Fisher-Price. Although this was the time of the Great Depression, the company manufactured 16 wooden toys which proved highly popular at the American International Toy Fair in New York City. Fisher was the president and chairman of the Fisher-Price company from its inception in 1930 to 1969 (he later retired and sold the firm to the Quaker Oats Company.) Bernard Loomis
Bernard Loomis (July 4, 1923 – June 2, 2006) was an American toy developer and marketer who introduced some of the world's most notable brands including Chatty Cathy, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Baby Alive, and Strawberry Shortcake, but perhaps his biggest marketing success was bringing a then-unknown film property called ''Star Wars'' to the toy shelves. Every toy company he worked for (Mattel, General Mills' Kenner division, and Hasbro) became "the world's largest toy company" during his tenures in each company. He also coined the word "toyetic" in a conversation with Steven Spielberg about translating his ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'' into figures. Lionel, LLC is an American designer and importer of toy trains and model railroads that is headquartered in Concord, North Carolina. Its roots lie in the 1969 purchase of the Lionel product line from the Lionel Corporation by cereal conglomerate General Mills and subsequent purchase in 1986 by businessman Richard P. Charles Philip Lazarus (October 4, 1923 – March 22, 2018) was an American entrepreneur, executive, and pioneer within the retail toy industry. Ole Kirk Kristiansen (7 April 1891 – 11 March 1958) was a Danish carpenter. In 1932, he founded the construction toy company The Lego Group. Over the course of his working life, Kristiansen developed his business from a small wood-working shop that sold household products into a wooden toy manufacturer. In 1934, he named the company Lego and defined its core principles. Lego would eventually transfer to the production of plastic bricks following the purchase of a plastic moulding injection machine in 1947.
