Towncraft (album)
Towncraft was a compilation LP documenting the punk scene of Little Rock, Arkansas and released by DIY record labels File Thirteen Records, Ahoalton Records, and Lower Case Records. In the summer of 1992, Little Rock saw an explosion of high school punk rock bands after the departures of locals Trusty in 1991 and Econochrist in 1989. A number of youth felt it necessary to document the scene. After several meetings at Denny's with an attendance of over 30 adolescents, Towncraft was born. Heavily influenced by the DIY ethic, youth run garage sales, bake sales, benefit shows, and a handful of generous donators would come together to put the record out. The 500 copies of Towncraft, sold for $6 each, and were accompanied by a compilation zine, which included entries from 12 different local zines. Sint
''Sint'' (released on DVD as ''Saint'' in Europe and ''Saint Nick'' in the United States) is a 2010 Dutch dark comedy horror film about Sinterklaas, the character on which the Anglo-Saxon Santa Claus is based. The film was directed by Dick Maas and marked his return to the horror genre, in which he gained acclaim with his debut ''De Lift'' (1983) and ''Amsterdamned'' (1988). The story distorts the popular traditions of Sinterklaas and portrays him as a ghost who murders large numbers of people when his annual celebration night coincides with a full moon. Plot On December 5th 1492, a gang led by former bishop Niklas is killed by villagers who refuse to put up with the gang's looting and killing any longer. In years in which the gang's death date coincides with a full moon, they return as murderous ghosts. G, or g, is the seventh letter in the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Chalk (band)
Chalk is a soft, white, permeability (Earth sciences), porous, sedimentary rock, sedimentary carbonate rock. It is a form of limestone composed of the mineral calcite and originally formed deep under the sea by the compression of microscopic plankton that had settled to the sea floor. Chalk is common throughout Western Europe, where deposits underlie parts of France, and steep cliffs are often seen where they meet the sea in places such as the Dover cliffs on the Kent coast of the English Channel. ''Towncraft'' is a feature documentary on the independent music scene in Little Rock, Arkansas from 1986 to 2006. Produced by Matson Films, ''Towncraft'' investigates the music that emerges from smaller cities and the importance of these local scenes, as well as their relationship to the larger music world. ''Towncraft'' was released in theaters, on DVD and online on May 22, 2007. ''Towncraft'' was the first film to be released simultaneously on these three platforms. Dan Zanes
Daniel Edgerly Zanes (born November 8, 1961) is an American former member of the popular 1980s band the Del Fuegos and is now the front man of the Grammy-winning group Dan Zanes and Friends. History Zanes's father was a teacher, as well as a poet and writer. Zanes attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts for two years. Zanes ended up living on the outskirts of Concord, New Hampshire. The Del Fuegos The Del Fuegos played in lofts, bars, warehouses, small art galleries, clubs, barns, college dining halls, fraternity houses, gymnasiums, auditoriums, and, finally, big theaters. ''Rolling Stone'' named the Del Fuegos "Best New Band" in 1984.
