Tower Building Of The Little Rock Arsenal
The Tower Building of the Little Rock Arsenal, also known as the Main Building of the U.S. Arsenal at Little Rock, or Headquarters Building of the Little Rock Barracks, is the home of the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. It is also a part of the MacArthur Park Historic District, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas. Built between 1840 and 1841, it was part of Little Rock's first U.S. military installation. Since decommissioning, the building has housed two local museums. It was home to the Museum of Discovery, Arkansas Museum of Natural History and Antiquities from 1942 to 1997 and the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History since 2001. It has also housed the Little Rock Æsthetic Club since 1894. The building receives its name from its distinct octagonal tower. Tower Building (Little Rock, Arkansas)
The Tower Building is a commercial eighteen-story skyscraper at 323 Center Street in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. Built in 1959–60, it was the tallest building in the state at the time of its completion, and the state's first instance of composite steel frame construction. It was designed by Little Rock architect F. Eugene Withrow and Dallas, Texas architect Harold A. Berry in the International style. It has curtain walls of windows on its north and south facades, and blank brick walls on the east and west, with the elevator tower projecting from its southern facade. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. The Tower Building is a historic skyscraper in South Bend, Indiana, United States. The Tower Building is located at 216 West Washington Street, diagonally from the current St. Joseph County Courthouse, and beside the Old Courthouse (Second St. Joseph County Courthouse). Tower Building, Liverpool
Tower Buildings is a former office block in the city of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It stands with its longer front on the east side of the Strand, and extends round the corner into Water Street. The building is located directly opposite the Royal Liver Building, which was designed by the same architect. Earlier buildings on the site have been a sandstone mansion, and a later fortified house known as the Tower of Liverpool. After this was demolished in 1819, it was replaced in 1846 by the first structure to be named Tower Buildings. The present structure is one of the earliest steel-framed buildings in England, and details of its architecture reflect the earlier fortified building on the site.
