The Towamba River is an open mature wave dominated barrier estuary or perennial river, located in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features The Towamba River rises near Coolangubra Mountain, below Mount Marshall on the eastern slopes of the South Coast Range, part of the Great Dividing Range, approximately north of Coolangubra Mountain. The river flows generally southeast and then northeast, joined by twelve tributaries including the Mataganah Creek and Wog Wog River, before reaching its mouth, emptying into Nullica Bay, within Twofold Bay, and spilling into the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean, east of Boydtown. A perennial stream is a stream that has continuous flow of surface water throughout the year in at least parts of its catchment during seasons of normal rainfall, Water Supply Paper 494. as opposed to one whose flow is intermittent. In the absence of irregular, prolonged or extreme drought, a perennial stream is a watercourse, or segment, element or emerging body of water which continually delivers groundwater. For example, an artificial disruption of stream, variability in flow or stream selection associated with the activity in hydropower installations, do not affect this status. Towamba River Bridge, New Buildings
The Towamba River bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge that carries Towamba Road across the Towamba River at New Buildings, New South Wales, Australia. The bridge is owned by Transport for NSW. The bridge is also called the New Buildings Bridge over Towamba River. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 20 June 2000. History The current timber low-level bridge was built in following the destruction of the previous bridge in a major flood in 1919. The bridge carries motor vehicles and, via a grade-separated path, carries both pedestrians and bicycles. The bridge had been closed for repairs for several weeks in 2017 following issues discovered in routine inspections. Mount Imlay National Park
Mount Imlay is a national park in New South Wales ( Australia), 387 km south of Sydney, named after the Imlay brothers, who were early pioneers to the district. It is accessed from the Princes Highway, south of Eden, New South Wales. The local Aborigines call the mountain "Balawan", and it is very important for their culture and spiritual teachings. The vegetation is mostly eucalyptus forest. The Imlay Mallee and Imlay Boronia are rare plants growing near the mountain's summit. However, there is a rainforest remnant surviving in a fire-free gully. It consists mostly of Black Olive Berry trees. The park contains large populations of wombats and superb lyrebirds. Princess Highway
Princes Highway is a major road in Australia, extending from Sydney via Melbourne to Adelaide through the states of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. It has a length of (along Highway 1) or via the former alignments of the highway, although these routes are slower and connections to the bypassed sections of the original route are poor in many cases. The highway follows the coastline for most of its length, and thus takes quite an indirect and lengthy route.
