Tourist History
''Tourist History'' is the debut studio album by Northern Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club, released on 17 February 2010 by Kitsuné. The album is named for the reputation of the band's hometown, Bangor, as a tourist attraction. ''Tourist History'' won the Choice Music Prize for the 2010 Irish Album of the Year. The band said it was the first award they had ever won and donated the €10,000 prize money to charity. Recording The band recorded the album at Eastcote Studios in London with Eliot James in July 2009, and was based in a studio adjacent to Duran Duran. The album was mixed at Phillipe Zdar's newly built studio, Motorbass, in Paris. Two Door Cinema Club were the second band to use Zdar's studio, the first being Phoenix, who recorded the Grammy Award-winning album ''Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix''. Two Door Cinema Club
Two Door Cinema Club are a band from Bangor, County Down, Bangor, Northern Ireland. The band formed in 2007 and is composed of three members: Alex Trimble (vocals, rhythm guitar, beats, synths), Sam Halliday (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Kevin Baird (bass, synths, backing vocals). The band's debut album, ''Tourist History'', was released on 1 March 2010 by French independent record label Kitsuné Music. In the United States, where the band are signed to Glassnote Records, the album was released on 27 April 2010. ''The Herald'' is a nationwide mid-market tabloid newspaper headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and published by Independent News & Media who are a subsidiary of Mediahuis. It is published Monday–Saturday. The newspaper was known as the ''Evening Herald'' until its name was changed in 2013. State.ie (formerly ''State Magazine'') was an Irish website and, before, a monthly music magazine. It launched in April 2008 and switched to online-only distribution in January 2009 after having published a total of ten issues. The magazine continued online until 2020, when that year's edition of its ''Faces'' series prominently mentioned the website having seized publication. It enjoyed a good run and was voted Best Music Site in 2008 and Best Web Publication in 2010 in the Irish Web Awards. Originally, the concept of the magazine involved a hard copy of which there was a charge to purchase. However after six issues it was decided to make the magazine's content free both online and in print. The first issue, April 2008, appeared on Irish shelves on 6 March 2008 and featured Michael Stipe of R.E.M. on the cover. ''Q'' was a popular music magazine published monthly in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1986 by broadcast journalists Mark Ellen and David Hepworth, who were presenters of the BBC television music series ''The Old Grey Whistle Test''. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. ''Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'' is the fourth studio album by French indie pop band Phoenix. It was released on 25 May 2009 by V2 Records. While the band's previous work enjoyed a moderate underground following, the release of ''Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'' drew the attention of a more mainstream audience. In the US, Phoenix began a promotional tour including performances on several late night talk shows. ''Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'' continued to gain momentum with the increased exposure of the tour. The album received critical acclaim with many publications calling it one of the best albums of 2009. Phoenix is a French pop rock band from Versailles, formed in 1995. Cassius was a French musical duo consisting of producers Philippe Cerboneschi and Hubert Blanc-Francard, better known as Zdar and Boombass (or sometimes Philippe Zdar and Hubert Boombass). Under its different incarnations the duo is likened to the "French Touch" movement of electronic music in the second half of the 1990s. Duran Duran
Duran Duran () are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by singer and bassist Stephen Duffy, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor (bass guitarist), John Taylor.
