Toumpa ( el, Τούμπα) is a village in Serres regional unit of Central Macedonia, Greece, located southeast of Serres. Since 2011 it is a municipal unit of the municipality of Emmanouil Pappas Emmanouel Pappas ( el, Εμμανουήλ Παππάς; 1772–1821) was a prominent member of Filiki Eteria and leader of the Greek War of Independence in Macedonia. History Antiquity On the hillside of Phakistra, located very close to Toumpa, a lot of archaeological finds have been unearthed over time and between them two Greek inscriptions of Roman imperial times (2nd century AD). All these testifies to the existence of an ancient settlement with a continuous life from prehistoric to Byzantine times.

Serres ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Σερρών) is one of the regional units of Greece, in the geographic region of Macedonia. It is part of the Region of Central Macedonia. Its capital is the city of Serres. The total population reaches just over 175,000. Geography The mountains are Orvelos to the north, Menoikio to the east, Pangaio to the southeast, Kerdylio to the southwest, Vertiskos to the west, parts of Krousi to the west and portions of the Kerkini lies to the northwest. Central Macedonia ( el, Κεντρική Μακεδονία, Kentrikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece, consisting of the central part of the geographical and historical region of Macedonia. Emmanouil Pappas ( el, Εμμανουήλ Παππάς) is a municipality in the Serres regional unit, Greece. The seat of the municipality is in Chryso.
