Tough Love (2015 Film)
''Tough Love'' (german: Härte) is a 2015 German semi-documentary drama film directed by Rosa von Praunheim and starring Hanno Koffler, Luise Heyer and Katy Karrenbauer. For example, the film was screened at the 2015 Montreal World Film Festival and at the Hong Kong International Film Festival in the same year. Plot Andreas (Hanno Koffler) was physically mistreated by his father from a young age, while his mother (Katy Karrenbauer) sexually molested him for years. Traumatized by these experiences of violence and rape, he slipped into crime as a young man and earned his money as a brutal pimp. But the police noticed him. After an outbreak of violence, Andreas ends up in prison, where he manages to come to terms with his past over the years, also with the help of his faithful girlfriend Marion (Luise Heyer). Rosa Von Praunheim
Holger Bernhard Bruno Mischwitzky (born Holger Radtke; 25 November 1942), known professionally as Rosa von Praunheim, is a German film director, author, painter and one of the most famous gay rights activists in the German-speaking world. In over 50 years, von Praunheim has made more than 150 films (short and feature-length films). His works influenced the development of LGBTQ+ rights movements worldwide. He began his career associated to the New German Cinema as a senior member of the Berlin school of underground filmmaking. He took the artistic female name Rosa von Praunheim to remind people of the pink triangle that homosexuals had to wear in Nazi concentration camps, as well as the Frankfurt neighborhood of Praunheim where he grew up. Hanno Koffler
Hanno Koffler (born March 25, 1980) is a German actor and musician. His most famous films include '' Summer Storm'', ''Krabat'' and ''Free Fall''. He also starred in the Oscar-nominated film, ''Never Look Away'' (2018), directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Life and career Koffler was born in West Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany. He was raised with his three brothers in Charlottenburg by a working middle-class family. Luise Heyer
Luise Heyer (born 25 March 1985) is a German actress. Biography Heyer grew up in Berlin. During her school years, she lived in Denmark for a year. From 2006 until 2010, she attended Rostock University of Music and Theatre in Mecklenburg, where she studied acting. In 2010, she joined the Dortmund Theatre, where she stayed for two years. She was voted best actress in the 2012 season at the Dortmund Theatre. Montreal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival). The public festival, which was founded in 1977 as a replacement for the defunct Montreal International Film Festival (1960–68), is held annually in late August in the city of Montreal in Quebec. Hong Kong International Film Festival
The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF), is one of Asia’s oldest international film festivals. Founded in 1976, the festival features different movies, filmmakers from different countries in Hong Kong. HKIFF screens around 230 films from more than 60 countries in different major cultural venues across the territory every year. Deutsche Filmakademie
The Deutsche Filmakademie is an independently run organization with a focus on filmmaking in Germany. It was founded in 2003 in Berlin as a way to provide native filmmakers a forum for discussion and a way to promote the reputation of German cinema through publications, presentations, discussions, and regular promotion of the subject in schools. Since 2005, the winners of the Deutscher Filmpreis (colloquially known as the Lolas) are elected by the members of the Deutsche Filmakademie. The Chicago International Film Festival is an annual film festival held every fall. Founded in 1964 by Michael Kutza, it is the longest-running competitive film festival in North America.
