Tactical Operations Unit
The State Protection Group (SPG) is part of the Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics Command of the New South Wales Police Force and was established in 1991 to deal with extraordinary policing responses. The SPG directly supports police in high-risk incidents such as sieges with specialised tactical, negotiation, intelligence and command-support services. The unit also provides rescue and bomb disposal support, canine policing, and armoury services. History Established in June 1991, the State Protection Group replaced four former specialist units; the Special Weapons and Operations Section (SWOS), the Witness Security Unit, regional Tactical Response Groups and the Police Rescue Squad. Later other sections were also added to the command including the Police Armoury, Negotiation section, Bomb disposal and Dog Unit. Tou (biblical Figure)
King Tou or Toi is the name of a king of Hamath, an ancient city located in Syria. He is referred to in 2 Samuel 8:9-10 as "Toi" ( ''Tō‘î'') and 1 Chronicles 18:9-10 as "Tou" ( ''Tō‘ū''). Both biblical accounts state that Tou paid homage to David, king of Israel, because he had defeated the army of Tou's enemy, Hadadezer, king of Zobah. Biblical text (KJV) 2 Samuel 8:9-10 reads: Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah; He sent Joram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. Tou (brewery)
Tou (''Tou bryggeri'') was a brewery established in 1855 at Tau near Stavanger, Norway. Tou brewery started producing beer and flour in 1855 at Tau outside Stavanger. In 1901, the production of beer was moved to Lervik in Stavanger. In the 1970s the production was again moved to new facilities in Forus. Christianssands Bryggeri (CB) was in 1964 a subsidiary of Tou. But CB was in 1990 demerged into a separate company (in 1999 they acquired by Hansa Borg). Tou merged in 1990 with Nora Industrier and became part of beverage company Ringnes. In June 2003, the Board of Ringnes closed down the brewery, despite strong local protests. 15 August 2003, the brewery closed down. The last bottle rolled off the assembly line, and the production was moved to Oslo. Today Tou is still produced. Tou brewery was Norway's first producer of carbonated apple juice.
