Toronto—St. Paul's
Toronto—St. Paul's is a federal electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1935. Its current MP is Carolyn Bennett. Prior to the 2015 election, the riding was known as St. Paul's. The small but densely populated riding covers the area to the north and northeast of Downtown Toronto (often called "Midtown" Toronto). In the past, it had been considered a bellwether riding, having been represented by only three opposition MPs. However, like most Toronto-based ridings, the Liberals have dominated recent elections. Since the Liberals won all but one seat in Ontario in their 1993 landslide, they have won all but one election in St. Paul's by 10,000 votes or more. Chaplin Estates, Toronto
Chaplin Estates is a neighbourhood that covers the southwest portion of the Yonge and Eglinton area in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It lies west of Yonge Street and is bounded by Eglinton Avenue to the north and Avenue Road to the west. The southern boundary is Chaplin Crescent, which runs parallel to the former Beltline Railway line, now the Beltline Trail, a scenic walking and biking trail. Davenport Road
Davenport Road is an east–west arterial road in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is believed to follow an old native trail along the foot of the scarp of the old shoreline of glacial Lake Iroquois. It currently runs from Yonge Street in the east to Old Weston Road in the west. The road is believed to follow part of a First Nations trail, connecting the Don River and the Humber River. It was known as "Gete-Onigaming," Ojibwe for "at the old portage." From the Don River, the trail followed the Rosedale Valley Road up to the current Davenport Road. The trail followed Davenport to Old Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue, then west along St. Clair to the Lambton area, then followed the route of the current Dundas Street to the Humber. Sherbourne Street is a roadway in Downtown Toronto. It is one of the original streets in the old city of York, Upper Canada. It starts at Queen's quay, and heads north to South Drive. Its 2 lanes for the entire length, though the part south of Bloor has bike lanes. Toronto South was a federal electoral district (Canada), electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1935. It was located in the city of Toronto in the provinces and territories of Canada, province of Ontario. Toronto East Centre was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1925 to 1935. It was located in the city of Toronto in the province of Ontario. This riding was created in 1924 from parts of Toronto Centre, Toronto East and Toronto South ridings. Summerhill, Toronto
Summerhill is a neighbourhood in central Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located north of Downtown Toronto. History It was named after Summer Hill house, built in 1842 by Canadian transportation magnate Charles Thompson. Much of the area was once part of the original Thompson estate but was subdivided for development during the following decades. During the 1880s, the North Toronto railway station was established on Yonge Street, and the neighbourhood of Summerhill quickly developed around it. The railway station was rebuilt in 1916 in honour of a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII). The neighbourhood underwent very little growth after the railway station closed in 1931, but it was revitalized by the launch of the Summerhill subway station in 1954. The railway station from 1916 still exists, and it currently serves as a LCBO outlet.
