Torneo Tenis Playa
The Torneo Tenis Playa, also named as Trofeo Juan Avendaño is an exhibition tennis tournament played annually in La Ribera beach in Luanco, Asturias, Spain. It is the only tennis tournament in the world organized over the sand of a beach, during the low tide of the sea. On the beach, are installed stands for 2,000 seats. History The first tournament was played in 1971, by initiative of a group of friends who didn't have any court to play in the town. In 1973, Juan Avendaño played his first tournament and since that year, it grows in popularity. In 1995, the tournament is re-organized thank to Avendaño and professional players start to play it. The tournament is played between July and August, when the low tide comes in the night. Gozón
Gozón is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. Its capital is the town of Luanco (also called Lluanco). The Cantabrian Sea lies on its northern edge, and it is bordered to the south by Corvera de Asturias, to the west by Avilés, and to the east by Carreño. Javier Soler (born 25 March 1955) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography A left-handed player from Barcelona, Soler featured in the Spain Davis Cup team for two ties, both in 1977. His first appearance was the doubles rubber when Spain played Greece in Athens. He and partner Antonio Muñoz secured the tie with a four-set win. He was called up again for Spain in the Europe Zone final against Italy in Barcelona. With the Italians having an unassailable 3–1 lead, Soler was picked for the fifth match against Adriano Panatta, a dead rubber. Younes El Aynaoui ( ar, يونس العيناوي) (born 12 September 1971) is a former professional tennis player from Morocco.
