Colfax, Wisconsin
Colfax is a village in Dunn County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,158 at the 2010 census. The village is surrounded by the Town of Colfax. History The Colfax, Wisconsin tornado outbreak destroyed most of Colfax in 1958. The community was named for Schuyler Colfax, who served as vice president under Ulysses S. Grant. Walnut Grove, Mississippi
Walnut Grove is a town in Leake County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 510 at the 2020 census, a sharp decrease from 1,911 at the 2010 census, due to the Walnut Grove Youth Correctional Facility being closed by the state in September 2016 because of repeated problems at the troubled facility. It had been privately owned and operated since 2001 under a contract with the state Department of Corrections. By 2011 it was the largest juvenile facility in the nation. Golden Memorial State Park is located east of the town. History Walnut Grove began as a European-American settlement in a nearby location, now referred to as "Old Walnut Grove". This area was developed as cotton plantations in the antebellum era. The town was incorporated in 1884. A post office was established in 1854, and in the early 1900s, electricity and street lights were installed. O'Neals, California
O'Neals is an unincorporated community in Madera County, California. It is located on the Willow Creek southeast of Raymond, at an elevation of 1309 feet (399 m). Perry County, Mississippi
Perry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2010 census, the population was 12,250. The county seat is New Augusta. The county is named after the War of 1812 naval hero, Oliver Hazard Perry. Perry County is part of the Hattiesburg, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area. Until 1906, the county seat was the old town of Augusta, near the center of the county on the east bank of the Leaf River. At Old Augusta, the outlaw James Copeland was executed by hanging on October 30, 1857. Old Augusta remains a small village today. Vancleave is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson County, Mississippi, United States. It is part of the Pascagoula Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,886 at the 2010 census, up from 4,910 at the 2000 census. Geography Vancleave occupies a large portion of central Jackson County; according to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 2.21%, are water. The original hamlet of Vancleave is along Mississippi Highway 57 on high ground north of the valley of Bluff Creek. The CDP limits extend north as far as Mississippi Highway 614 (Wade–Vancleave Road), east to the Pascagoula River and Ward Bayou, and south to the Gautier city line at the mouth of Bluff Creek.
