''Torn'' is a 2013 drama film directed by Jeremiah Birnbaum and written by Michael Richter and starring Mahnoor Baloch, Faran Tahir, Dendrie Taylor and John Heard. The film was released on October 18, 2013. Premise The film is the story of two mothers Maryam (Mahnoor Baloch) and Lea (Dendrie Taylor) who are grieving over their dead teenage sons and then begin to wonder if the other's son wasn't responsible for their child's death. Mahnoor Baloch
Mahnoor Baloch (born 15 February 1970) is an American-born Canadian Pakistani actress, film director and former model. Baloch made her television debut in 1993 with the drama serial ''Marvi'' aired on PTV. She is often praised by critics for her fitness and younger looks on-screen. Career Baloch appeared in the TV commercials of well known brand names. In 1993, she made her acting debut in the TV serial (PTV Drama) Marvi which was directed by Sultana Siddiqui. Her next series was ''Dusra Aasmaan''. In this serial she performed the role of Abid Ali's daughter. In 2000, Mahnoor Baloch started directing and producing her own drama serials. Her first serial as director was ''Lamhay''. Later she directed another television series Patjhar Ki Chaioon. Faran Tahir
Faran Haroon Tahir (born February 16, 1963) is a Pakistani-American actor. Tahir was born in Los Angeles to an artistic family. His parents were actor Naeem Tahir and radio host Yasmeen Tahir and his grandparents were writers Imtiaz Ali Taj and Hijab Imtiaz Ali. Tahir went on to graduate from theatre programs at the University of California, Berkeley and the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. Tahir made his television debut as a desk clerk on ''Midnight Caller'' in 1989.
