Tore Jarl Ryen (born 30 December 1946) is a Norwegian revue and television writer. He was behind several sitcoms aired on TV 2. ''Mot i brøstet'', ''Karl & Co'' and '' Karl III'' starred Nils Vogt as "Karl Reverud"; in addition Ryen created '' Holms'' and '' Radio 2''. TV 2 (Norway)
TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. In 1992, TV 2 A/S was admitted as full active member of the European Broadcasting Union. As is common with television (and cinema) in Norway, most foreign-language shows and segments of local programmes with foreign language dialogues (e.g. interviews with foreigners) are subtitled in Norwegian, not dubbed (with a notable exception being children's programmes). Mot I Brøstet
''Mot i Brøstet'' is a Norwegian television sitcom created by Tore Ryen. Originally broadcast on TV 2 from 22 January 1993 to 8 December 1997, it was the first commercially produced comedy series in Norway, and as of 2023 is the longest running Norwegian comedy series ever created. Since its original broadcast the series has been repeated frequently and also released on DVD in 2007 and 2018. A very popular series with high viewing figures throughout all eight series, while being both controversial and often criticized, it lasted for 141 episodes and spawned two spin-offs, '' Karl & Co'' (1998-2001) and ' Karl III'' (2009). ''Karl III'' is a Norwegian sitcom that aired on TV 2 in 2009. It is a sequel to ''Mot i brøstet'' and ''Karl & Co''. Upon its release it was heavily criticized by both critics and viewers for departing from the series' original style. It was cancelled after one season. Nils Henning Vogt (born ) is a Norwegian actor who is best known for some of his comedy roles, particularly as the temperamental small business owner Karl Reverud in the sit-coms ''Mot i brøstet'' (which he also directed) from 1993 to 1997, ''Karl & Co'' from 1998 to 2001 and '' Karl III'' in 2009. Gullruten ("Golden Screen") is an annual award for the Norwegian TV industry, founded in 1998 by ''Norske Film- og TV-produsenters forening''. The awarding committee has representatives from the major national TV companies, NRK, TV 2, TV3 and TVNorge. In 1998, the show was hosted by Nadia Hasnaoui, and from 1999 to 2012, by Dorthe Skappel.
