Tore Pryser
Tore Pryser (born 9 January 1945) is a Norwegian historian, who has served as professor at the Lillehammer University College since 1993. Born in Oslo, he took a cand.philol. degree at the University of Oslo. He was appointed at the Lillehammer University College in 1975, became associate professor in 1978, and was promoted to professor in 1993. Pryser has specialized in several fields. In the field of Norwegian nineteenth- and twentieth-century history, his 1985 tome ''Norsk historie 1800–1870. Frå standssamfunn til klassesamfunn'' is influential. In 1999 it was republished in an abridged version, ''Norsk historie 1814–1860, Frå standssamfunn mot klassesamfunn'', as volume four of '' Samlagets norske historie'', a series on Norwegian history spanning the years 800 to 2000. The National Archives of Norway (''Riksarkivet'') is the institution responsible for preserving archive material from Norwegian state institutions, as well as contributing to the preservation of private archives. ''Arbeiderbevegelsens historie i Norge'' ( en, History of the Workers' Movement in Norway) is a six-volume work about the labour movement history of Norway. It was released between 1985 and 1990 by Tiden Norsk Forlag. It was not the first work about the history of the Norwegian labour movement. Einhart Lorenz released the two-volume work ''Arbeiderbevegelsens historie. En innføring. Norsk sosialisme i internasjonalt perspektiv'' in 1972 and 1974. This time, a large work was planned because of the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian Labour Party in 1987. As such, it is a party history combined with the history of other important parties as well as the trade union movement. Several of the editors and writers engaged in the project were in fact members of the Labour Party, or labour movement "sympathizers". ''Dagsavisen'' is a daily newspaper published in Oslo, Norway. The former party organ of the Norwegian Labour Party, the ties loosened over time from 1975 to 1999. It has borne several names, and was called ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1923 to 1997. Eirik Hoff Lysholm is editor-in-chief. The newspaper depends on economic support from the Norwegian Government. History ''Dagsavisen'' was established by Christian Holtermann Knudsen in 1884 under the name ''Vort Arbeide'' ('Our Work' in archaic Riksmål), and was affiliated with the trade union center ''Fagforeningernes Centralkomité''. Holtermann Knudsen also had to establish his own printing press since the existing printing presses did not want to be affiliated with a labourer's newspaper. The fledgling project was marred by economic problems, and the burden of writing, editing, and printing lay chiefly on Knudsen. Nation-building
Nation-building is constructing or structuring a national identity using the power of the state. Nation-building aims at the unification of the people within the state so that it remains politically stable and viable in the long run. According to Harris Mylonas, "Legitimate authority in modern national states is connected to popular rule, to majorities. Nation-building is the process through which these majorities are constructed." Nation builders are those members of a state who take the initiative to develop the national community through government programs, including military conscription and national content mass schooling. Nation-building can involve the use of propaganda or major infrastructure development to foster social harmony and economic growth. Historiography is the study of the methods of historians in developing history as an academic discipline, and by extension is any body of historical work on a particular subject. Klassekampen
''Klassekampen'' ( en, The Class Struggle) is a Norwegian daily newspaper. It describes itself as "the newspaper of the Left." The paper's net circulation is 34,000 (2021), and it has around 111,000 daily readers on paper (160,000 on Saturdays). This makes it the third largest Norwegian print newspaper, based on readership. Chief editor from 2018 is Mari Skurdal. The paper was initially a part of the young marxist-leninist (maoist) movement in Norway. It started out in early 1969 as a monthly periodical published by "a group of marxist-leninists" with Anders M. Andersen as the first editor. It promoted the positions of the Workers' Communist Party (AKP; founded 1973) and its predecessors.
