Tor Eystein Øverås
Tor Eystein Øverås (born 17 July 1968) is a Norwegian language, Norwegian literary critic and Essay, essayist. He also issued one novel. Øverås issued the novel ''Tittelløs'' in 1993 on Gyldendal Norsk Forlag, Gyldendal. He later issued several books on writing and literature—''Fortelleren'' (1996), ''Til. En litterær reise'' (2005), ''Livet! Litteraturen!'' (2009), ''I dette landskap'' (2012), ''Hva er et essay?'' (2014), and ''Skrive, teikne, røre og slåst!'' (2018)—all but the last on Gyldendal. Norwegian Language
Norwegian ( no, norsk, links=no ) is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Norway, where it is an official language. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties; some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages, constitute the North Germanic languages. Faroese and Icelandic are not mutually intelligible with Norwegian in their spoken form because continental Scandinavian has diverged from them. While the two Germanic languages with the greatest numbers of speakers, English and German, have close similarities with Norwegian, neither is mutually intelligible with it. Norwegian is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Age. Essay
An essay is, generally, a piece of writing that gives the author's own argument, but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of a letter, a paper, an article, a pamphlet, and a short story. Gyldendal Norsk Forlag AS, commonly referred to as Gyldendal N.F. and in Norway often only as Gyldendal, is one of the largest Norwegian publishing houses. It was founded in 1925 after buying rights to publications from the Danish publishing house Gyldendal, which the company also takes it name from. Gyldendal Norsk Forlag AS Gyldendal Norsk Forlag AS was founded in 1925. It was established when a group of Norwegian investors "bought home" the works of " The Four Greats" and Knut Hamsun, which had previously been published by the Danish publishing house Gyldendal. Harald Grieg had a central role in this operation and became the new company's director, and Knut Hamsun provided significant capital and became its largest shareholder. Norwegian Critics Prize For Literature
The Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature (''Den norske Kritikerprisen for litteratur'' or ''Kritikerprisen'') is awarded by the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association (''Norsk Litteraturkritikerlag'') and has been awarded every year since 1950. The prize is presented to a Norwegian author for a literary work as agreed to among the members of the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association. Since 1978 the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association has also awarded a prize for the best work of children's literature. In 2003 the Critics Prize for the year's best work of translation was established, and in 2012 the Critics Prize for the year's best work of nonfiction for adults was established.
