Series 28 of ''Top Gear'', a British motoring magazine and factual television programme, was broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Two during 2020, consisting of six episodes between 26 January and 1 March; the series' studio segments were filmed prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK. The series was preceded by a feature-length special, involving a road trip by the presenters across Nepal, that was aired on 29 December 2019. This series' highlights included the presenters competing in a Mexican off-road motorsport race, creating a home-made off-road vehicle, a second race between a high-speed car and a fighter jet, and a tribute to rally legend Colin McRae. BBC Two
BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Austin Metro
The Metro is a supermini car, later a city car that was produced by British Leyland (BL) and, later, the Rover Group from 1980 to 1998. It was launched in 1980 as the Austin mini Metro. It was intended to complement and eventually replace the Mini, and was developed under the codename LC8. The Metro was named by ''What Car?'' magazine as 'Car of The Year' in 1983 as an MG, and again as the Rover Metro in 1991. Bungee jumping (), also spelled bungy jumping, is an activity that involves a person jumping from a great height while connected to a large elastic cord. The launching pad is usually erected on a tall structure such as a building or crane, a bridge across a deep ravine, or on a natural geographic feature such as a cliff. The Chrysler LeBaron, also known as the Imperial LeBaron, is a line of automobiles built by Chrysler from 1931-1941 and from 1955-1995. The model was introduced in 1931, with a body manufactured by LeBaron Incorporated, LeBaron, and competed with other luxury cars of the era such as Lincoln Motor Company, Lincoln and Packard. The R170 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is the first generation of the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class range of compact luxury roadsters produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1996 and 2004. SLK stands for the company’s design mission to create a ''sportlich'' (sporty), ''leicht'' (light) and ''kurz'' (compact) roadster, and is based on a shortened platform of the W202 Mercedes C-Class. Ford Escort (Europe)
The Ford Escort is a small family car that was manufactured by Ford of Europe from 1968 until 2000. In total there were six generations, spread across three basic platforms beginning with the original rear-wheel drive Mk.1/Mk.2 (1968–1980), the "Erika" front wheel drive Mk.3/Mk.4 (1980–1990), and the final CE-14 Mk.5/Mk.6 (1990–2002) version. Its successor - the Ford Focus - was released in 1998, but the final generation of Escort was gradually phased out, with the panel van version ending production in 2002 in favour of the Ford Transit Connect. The Ariel Atom is a road-legal high performance open-wheel car made by the British Ariel Motor Company based in Crewkerne, Somerset, England, and under license in North America by TMI Autotech, Inc. at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. Hulas Motors
Hulas Motors Pvt. Ltd. is the only commercial vehicle manufacturer in Nepal, manufacturing light commercial vehicles (LCV) as well as Mini Utility Vehicles (MUV). Hulas Motors Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1996 (B. S. 2054). It is a sister concern of Golchha Organization, one of the largest manufacturing companies in Nepal. The Renault 4, also known as the 4L (pronounced "Quatrelle" in French), is a small economy car produced by the French automaker Renault between 1961 and 1994. Although the Renault 4 was marketed as a short station wagon, its minimal rear overhang, and single top-hinged rear opening made it the world's first mass-produced hatchback car, as well as the first front-wheel drive family car produced by Renault. Peugeot 106
The Peugeot 106 is a supermini produced by French automaker Peugeot between 1991 and 2003. Launched in September 1991, it was Peugeot's entry level offering throughout its production life, and was initially sold only as a three door hatchback, with a five door hatchback joining the range in the beginning of 1992. Lo Manthang
Lomanthang ( ne, लोमान्थाङ) is a rural municipality in Mustang district in Gandaki Province of western Nepal. It is located at the northern end of the district, bordering the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north and Dalome rural municipality of Mustang in the south. ''Lo'' is the northern two-thirds of Mustang district, culturally and linguistically influenced by Tibet, while the southern third is called ''Thak'', the homeland of Thakali people who speak a different language and have a synthesis of Tibetan and Nepalese culture.
