Toolihalan
Toolihalan is a small village in Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir, India. Toolihalan is situated on the banks of Rambi Ara, away from Shopian. The village is bounded by Chowgam towards East, Devepora towards West, Day Gam village towards North, and Hirpora Wildlife Sanctuary towards South. It has decades-old road that connects it to the main town of Shopian. History The history of Toolihalan begins with the increase of population. Before 1952, the place was without human beings. Everywhere, there was nothing but forests. In 1952, some people migrated from Shopian to different places in search of food and safe shelter and few of them got settled at Toolihalan. Later, Government of Jammu and Kashmir constructed a footway from Shopian to Toolihalan. In 2014, deadly flood damaged footway badly. Shopian District
Shopian district (), known as Shupyan () in Kashmiri, is a hill district with its administrative division in Shopian town, located in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, since it is situated on the historical road commonly known as Mughal Road, most of its area is occupied by forests. Shopian district comes under the Pir Panjal Range which makes it very cold in winter. After partition of India, it was a tehsil of Pulwama district. In March, 2007, the district status was granted by the Government of India. The economy of the district depends on agriculture, particularly apple growing. Hirpora Wildlife Sanctuary or Heerpora Wildlife Sanctuary is located, Hirpora in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies 12 km from Shopian town, south of Srinagar. Devepora (also known as ''Dev Pora'' or ''Devpura'') is a large village located in the forest block of Shopian district in the Indian States and union territories of India, union territory of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir.
