Tonye Patano
Tonye T. Patano (born October 16, 1961) is an American actress. She may be best known as Heylia James on the television series '' Weeds''. She has appeared in television shows such as ''Law & Order'', ''Sex and the City'', ''Monk'' and ''Third Watch''. Patano was in the original cast of the Broadway play, '' 45 Seconds from Broadway'' by Neil Simon. Career Film and television Patano's first screen role was in the 1984 television film ''The Jesse Owens Story''. She has appeared on several television series in guest roles, including ''Sex and the City'', ''Monk'', ''Third Watch'', ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' and ''Elementary''. ''Weeds'' is an American dark comedy-drama television series created by Jenji Kohan, which aired on Showtime from August 8, 2005, to September 16, 2012. The series tells of Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), a widowed mother of two boys (Hunter Parrish and Alexander Gould) who begins selling marijuana to support her family. ''Loving Leah'' is a television film that aired on CBS as a '' Hallmark Hall of Fame'' movie on January 25, 2009. The film is directed by Jeff Bleckner and stars Adam Kaufman as a non-observant Jewish bachelor who feels compelled to marry his rabbi brother's widow, Leah (Lauren Ambrose), to honor him via the ancient Jewish law of ''yibbum'' ( levirate marriage).
