Tony Wright (born 23 October 1949, in London), also known as Sue Ab Surd, is an artist who created album covers such as Bob Marley's ''Natty Dread'' and Traffic (band), Traffic's ''The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys'' and others including Bob Dylan's ''Saved (Bob Dylan album), Saved''. His art work for ''The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys'' and Steve Winwood's ''Arc of a Diver'' were listed amongst ''Rolling Stone's'' 100 Greatest Album Covers. Peter Skellern
Peter Skellern (14 March 1947 – 17 February 2017) was an English singer-songwriter and pianist who rose to fame in the 1970s. He had two Hit song, top twenty hits on the UK Singles Chart - "You're a Lady" (1972), which typifies his signature use of brass bands and choral arrangements for a nostalgic and romantic feel, and "Hold On to Love (Peter Skellern song), Hold On to Love" (1975). In the 1980s, Skellern formed the band Oasis (1980s band), Oasis with Julian Lloyd Webber and Mary Hopkin and established a musical comedy partnership with Richard Stilgoe in cabaret. Over his career, Skellern wrote and performed music for film, television and stage, notably writing and starring in ''Happy Endings'', a 1981 BBC anthology series of comic musical plays. Bloodletting (Boxer Album)
''Bloodletting'' was an album by the rock band Boxer, released on the Virgin record label in 1979. Their third album in order of release, it had in fact been recorded in 1976 after their debut ''Below the Belt''. It was also a posthumous release for band leader Mike Patto, who had died of lymphatic leukemia in March 1979, and for bass player Keith Ellis, who had died December 1978. Patto was credited as writer of all the album's original songs. Also featured were cover versions of "Hey Bulldog" by Lennon and McCartney, Leonard Cohen's "Teachers", "Dinah Low" by Terry Stamp and Jim Avery (who also wrote "Town Drunk" on Boxer's debut album, ''Below The Belt'') and "The Loner" by Neil Young. Boxer (band)
Boxer were a rock band formed by keyboardist Mike Patto and guitarist Ollie Halsall in 1975. They signed to Virgin and three albums followed, ''Below the Belt'' (1975), '' Absolutely'' (1977) and ''Bloodletting'' (1979), which also featured Bobby Tench and Boz Burrell. The band dissolved after ''Absolutely'' when Patto became ill. The band was managed by Nigel Thomas who secured a five-album deal over five years with CBS, reputed to have been worth £1.2million, and was never fully executed due to Patto's death on 4 March 1979. During a six-year period, Boxer also toured the US and Europe. Aswad are a British reggae group, noted for adding strong R&B and soul influences to the reggae sound. They have been performing since the mid-1970s, having released a total of 21 albums. Their UK hit singles include the number one "Don't Turn Around" (1988) and " Shine" (1994). "Aswad" is Arabic for "black". They are three-time Grammy Award nominees. ''Super Ape'' is a dub studio album produced and engineered by Lee "Scratch" Perry, credited to his studio band The Upsetters. In Jamaica, the album was released under the name ''Scratch the Super Ape'' in July 1976 on Perry's own Upsetter label. Lee "Scratch" Perry (born Rainford Hugh Perry; 20 March 1936 – 29 August 2021) was a Jamaican record producer, composer and singer noted for his innovative studio techniques and production style. Perry was a pioneer in the 1970s development of dub music with his early adoption of remixing and studio effects to create new instrumental or vocal versions of existing reggae tracks. He worked with and produced for a wide variety of artists, including Bob Marley and the Wailers, Junior Murvin, The Congos, Max Romeo, Adrian Sherwood, Beastie Boys, Ari Up, The Clash, The Orb, and many others. Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. Although it has undergone several line-up changes, Stephen "Cat" Coore and Richard Daley have been constant members. History Third World started when keyboard player Michael "Ibo" Cooper and guitarist (and cellist) Stephen "Cat" Coore (son of former Deputy Prime Minister David Coore), who had originally played in The Alley Cats and then Inner Circle, subsequently left to form their own band along with Inner Circle singer Milton "Prilly" Hamilton.
