Tony Scannell
Thomas Anthony Scannell (14 August 1945 – 26 May 2020) was an Irish actor, known for his role as DS Ted Roach in ITV's ''The Bill''. Career Scannell's debut on ''The Bill'' was on 23 October 1984, in an episode called "A Friend in Need". Initially, he was signed for two episodes, but stayed until 1993 and returned for two episodes in 2000. He also appeared in the Channel 5 soap opera ''Family Affairs'' as Eddie Harris from 1997 to 1999. Personal life His father, Tom Scannell, was a professional goalkeeper, and played once for the Republic of Ireland against Luxembourg in 1954. In 2002, Tony Scannell was forced to declare himself bankrupt, owing the Inland Revenue over £42,000. He was a Freemason. Scannell died on 26 May 2020 aged 74 from unknown causes. Kinsale
Kinsale ( ; ) is a historic port and fishing town in County Cork, Ireland. Located approximately south of Cork City on the southeast coast near the Old Head of Kinsale, it sits at the mouth of the River Bandon, and has a population of 5,281 (as of the 2016 census) which increases in the summer when tourism peaks. ''Cribb'' (''Sergeant Cribb'' in North America) is a television police drama, which debuted in 1979 as a 90-minute TV film from Granada Television in the United Kingdom. Later, thirteen 50-minute episodes were produced, which ran from 1980 to 1981. Adapted from Peter Lovesey's Sergeant Cribb historical mystery novels and set in Victorian London around the time of the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888, Alan Dobie starred as the tough Detective Sergeant who worked for the newly formed Criminal Investigation Department (CID), determined to remove crime from the streets of London using the latest detection methods.
