Tony Parks
Anthony Parks (born 28 January 1963) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a career spanning over 20 years, he was on the books of 15 different clubs, making more than 250 league appearances and won the 1983–84 UEFA Cup with Tottenham Hotspur. After retiring as a player he had two spells as joint caretaker manager of Halifax Town. Career Parks was born in Hackney, London, and began his football career with Tottenham Hotspur. Though never a first-team regular, he was on the winning side in the 1984 UEFA Cup Final, in which he saved the final penalty from Anderlecht's Arnór Guðjohnsen in the penalty shootout. While still at Tottenham he had loan spells at fellow First Division club Oxford United and third-tier Gillingham. Hackney Central is a sub-district of Hackney in the London Borough of Hackney in London, England and is four miles (6.4 km) northeast of Charing Cross. In association footballing terms, a caretaker manager or interim manager is somebody who takes temporary charge of the management of a football team, usually when the regular Manager (association football), manager is dismissed or leaves for a different club. Hans Leitert (born 15 January 1973) is a former Austrian goalkeeping coach and current consultant within the football industry. In February 2018, Leitert began working with Liverpool F.C. in a consultancy role. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Arnór Guðjohnsen
Arnór Guðjohnsen (born 30 April 1961) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a striker. He spent seven years with Belgian club Anderlecht and was the top scorer in the 1986–87 season. He is the father of striker Eiður Guðjohnsen and the grandfather of striker Sveinn Aron Guðjohnsen. His younger son, also named Arnór, signed for Swansea City in July 2017, at the age of 16. Penalty Kick (association Football)
A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 m (12 yards) from the goal line and centred between the touch lines. Procedure The ball is placed on the penalty mark, regardless of where in the penalty area the foul occurred. The player taking the kick must be identified to the referee. 1984 UEFA Cup Final
The 1984 UEFA Cup Final was an association football tie played on 9 May and 23 May 1984 to determine the champion of the 1983–84 UEFA Cup. The two-legged final was contested between Anderlecht of Belgium–– who were defending champions–– and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. of England. Tottenham won 4–3 on penalty kicks after the tie finished 2–2 on aggregate. To date, this remains the most recent European honour won by Tottenham. In addition, it would be another thirty-five years until Spurs even played in another major European final, when they reached the Champions League Final in 2019, losing to Liverpool. In 1997, it emerged that Anderlecht's passage to the final had involved the club's chairman paying a bribe totalling £27,000 to the referee for the semi-final against Nottingham Forest.
