Tony McGuinness (English Musician)
Anthony Patrick James McGuinness, (born 23 April 1969) is a British trance musician. He is known for being in the electronic music group Above & Beyond. He is also a guitarist/songwriter with cult indie band Sad Lovers & Giants. Biography Tony McGuinness plays guitar with English indie band Sad Lovers & Giants, appearing on three albums between 1988 and 2002 and is still an active member having toured US and Europe regularly with them since 2009. McGuinness was also a highly successful marketing director for Warner Music Group, winning awards for his campaigns for Madonna, Seal, Simply Red and Mike Oldfield. While working at Warner, McGuinness shifted away from alternative rock towards electronic dance music. He worked as A&R for a number of dance artists, including William Orbit and Hysteric Ego. Tranquility Base ( la, Statio Tranquillitatis) is the site on the Moon where, in July 1969, humans landed and walked on a celestial body other than Earth for the first time. On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 crewmembers Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed their Apollo Lunar Module ''Eagle'' at approximately 20:17:40 UTC. Armstrong exited the spacecraft six hours and 39 minutes after touchdown, followed 19 minutes later by Aldrin. OceanLab (or Above & Beyond presents OceanLab) is a vocal trance group formed in London, England, in 2000, consisting of vocalist Justine Suissa and the three members of Above & Beyond: Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness. After a several year hiatus, the group announced their return with a new single at Above & Beyond's ABGT150 concert in September 2015. Above & Beyond are an electronic music group consisting of English DJs Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Finnish DJ Paavo Siljamäki. Formed in 2000, they are the owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and also host a weekly radio show titled ''Group Therapy Radio''.
