Tony Hans-Joachim Martin (born 23 April 1985) is a German former professional Road bicycle racing, road bicycle racer. Martin was known as a individual time trial, time trial specialist, and is a four-time world champion in the discipline – having won the title in 2011 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2011, 2012 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2012, 2013 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2013 and 2016 UCI Road World Championships – Men's time trial, 2016 – which is joint-most with Fabian Cancellara. The 2018 Tour of Britain was an eight-stage men's professional Road bicycle racing, road cycling race. It was the fifteenth running of the modern version of the Tour of Britain and the 78th British tour in total. The race started on 2 September in Pembrey Country Park and finished on 9 September in London. It was part of the 2018 UCI Europe Tour. The French rider Julian Alaphilippe of won the race. BinckBank Tour
The Benelux Tour (previously known as the Eneco Tour and the BinckBank Tour) is a road bicycle racing stage-race that is part of the UCI World Tour. The race was established in 2005 and was originally known as the Eneco Tour, named after the original sponsor. In 2017, the online discount broker BinckBank took over as the title sponsor, with the name of the race changing accordingly. In 2021, with the absence of a title sponsor, the race will be known as the Benelux Tour. History The Tour of the Netherlands began on 6 May 1948, but only became an annual event in 1975. From about 2000 it was known as the Eneco Tour. The start of the UCI's ProTour in 2005 saw the faltering tour reorganised and reinvigorated. The 2011 Volta ao Algarve was the 37th edition of the Volta ao Algarve cycling stage race. 2012 Tour Of Belgium
The 2012 Tour of Belgium was the 82nd edition of the Tour of Belgium cycling stage race. It took place from 23 May to 27 May 2012 in Belgium. The race is part of the UCI Europe Tour. It began with three relatively short stages, followed by two stages meant to be deciding the tour: an individual time-trial on Saturday and a longer stage through the hills of the Ardennes. Different comparing to the previous years was that the leader in the race will wore a red jersey (instead of black), whereas the black jersey went to the most combative rider. To decide the combativity, there were three sprints in each stage (except for the time-trial), where in case of a breakaway, the first five riders earned points (10, 8, 6, 4 and 2). Based on the lead the breakaway has on the peloton, these riders received bonus points, going from 1 point for a 30-second lead up to 5 points for a lead of 4 minutes or more. The Tour of Belgium ( nl, Ronde van België; french: Tour de Belgique) is a five-day bicycle race which is held annually in Belgium, and is part of the UCI ProSeries. It was held annually between 1908 and 1981, except during both world wars. Between 1982 and 1990 several races were not organised and none at all from 1991 to 2001. From 2002 onwards the race has again become an annual fixture on the cycling calendar. Following the start of the UCI ProTour in 2005 it looked like the race would merge with the Eneco Tour; however this did not happen and it became part of the UCI Europe Tour competition. The 2012 Tour of Beijing was the second running of the Tour of Beijing stage race. It started on 9, October at Tiananmen Square and ended on 13, October in Beijing's Pinggu District after five stages. It was the 28th and final race of the 2012 UCI World Tour season. The race was won for the second successive year by German rider Tony Martin, riding for the team. Martin won the second stage of the race with a solo attack from the end of the stage, and ultimately won the stage by 46 seconds from his nearest competitor. He held the overall lead of the race until its conclusion, eventually winning the race by 40 seconds from rider Francesco Gavazzi, who won the race's queen stage on the third day. The 2011 Tour of Beijing was the inaugural running of the Tour of Beijing cycling stage race. It started with an individual time trial around the Beijing Olympic Village on 5 October and finished at the Bird's Nest on 9 October. The race covered across Beijing over five stages, and was the first race to be owned by Global Cycling's governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale, a move which raised some controversy. It was the 25th race of the UCI World Tour season. The race was won by rider Tony Martin, after winning the opening time trial stage and maintaining his advantage to the end of the race.
