Tony Haynes (American Musician)
Tony Haynes is an American lyricist, songwriter, poet, music publisher, producer and author. Over the last four decades he has written lyrics to melodies composed by the biggest names in R&B and pop music. He has also authored children's books and produced children's music based on some of the most successful animated characters. Lyricist and songwriter He began his professional career in 1981 writing songs with Al McKay and David Bryant. McKay had recently left Earth, Wind & Fire. He signed Haynes to a co-publishing deal with Steelchest Music and introduced him to David Bryant. Together they wrote "Send A Little Love" for The Spinners, "Sayonara" for A Taste of Honey and "Lovers" and "You Owe It All To Love" for Finis Henderson. With Erich Bulling, Haynes also wrote songs for Japanese recording artists Naoko Kawai and Hiromi Iwasaki. Stephanie Dorthea Mills (born March 22, 1957) is an American singer and songwriter. She rose to stardom as "Dorothy" in the original seven-time Tony Award winning Broadway run of the musical ''The Wiz'' from 1974 to 1979. The song " Home" from the show later became a Number 1 U.S. R&B hit and her signature song. Clarence Alexander "Skip" Scarborough (November 26, 1944 – July 3, 2003) was an American songwriter, best known for romantic ballads. Biography Scarborough was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Spinners are an American rhythm and blues vocal group that formed in Ferndale, Michigan, United States, in 1954. Howard Hewett Jr. (born October 1, 1955) is an American singer–songwriter. Hewett rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the group Shalamar.
