	Tony Franklin (Australian Footballer) Anthony "Tony" Franklin (born 18 December 1950) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Originally from the Tasmanian club Penguin, Franklin played mostly as a ruckman and half forward in his two seasons at South Melbourne. His career was dogged by recurring hamstring injuries. He represented Tasmania at interstate football and won the Lefroy Medal for a performance against Victoria. After leaving South Melbourne he spent some time in the VFA playing for Sandringham. Franklin rejoined the Swans as a coach, guiding the Reserves team to the 1980 VFL Reserves Grand Final, where they lost by 33 points to Geelong. 	Tony Franklin (baseball) Anthony Wayne Franklin (born June 9, 1950, at Portland, Maine) is an American manager in minor league baseball and a former infielder in the minor leagues. He spent eight seasons as manager of the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees from to , and led the Thunder to three Eastern League championships (, , and ) and two additional division titles (; ). In 2015, he was named manager of the Pulaski Yankees in Virginia. Early life Franklin graduated from Centennial High School in Compton, California, and attended Los Angeles City College. 	Tony Franklin (American Football Coach) Tony Franklin (born August 29, 1957) is an American football coach, serving as the offensive coordinator for the Army Black Knights Sprint Football team. Previously, he held the same position with the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders of Conference USA after making a move from the same position with the California Golden Bears. He announced his retirement from MTSU soon after the new year in 2021, following the completion of a challenging 2020 season. Franklin was previously the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator of the Auburn University football team, before being fired from that position on October 8, 2008.
